Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Where else could you get a kid with so many pschological problems that he would gladly also have schitzophrenia, just to divide them up; a crazy German *****; an emotionless blue-haired girl who afore mentioned kid falls in love with; a father of the screwed-up kid who have a mutual dislake of each other (I know the grammar of that last part made no sense) who is also the kid's boss; and more, all wrapped up in one convenient giant-robot-fighting package?
Oh, and I also like Zoids: Chaotic Century, and Robotech (especially Macross Saga)
