The more I look over the screens, the more I wonder why the Link in these games is just Twilight Princess Link rendered in Skyward Sword's style. I didn't think TP Link was iconic enough to stick with instead of using the most recent one.

I think it's so that he doesn't look weird standing next to TP Zelda.
I liked SS Zelda but I cannot see her in Battle Mode.

They could just use a more version-neutral design for Zelda
it's basically what they did with Link, since he's not quite TP and not quite SS

Come to think of it, if they do make SS Zelda playable, I wonder if they'll replace Sheik with Impa. Though this would mean they'd be separate characters... I'd be fine with that.

TP Link is one of my favorite Links so I'm glad they kept him. Personally.

Never cared for the TP design, SS Link is my personal favorite and I like that they're taking design cues from that rather just touching up TP Link
would have preferred just plain old SS Link, but I understand the reasoning behind using a Link with mixed design features
