Nope, YouTube hasn't done anything stupid recently (yet), this thread is to discuss and share your favorite channels.
Many of my favorite channels do happen to be fairly popular, so you may have already seen some of their videos, but they've gained that popularity for a good reason.
Vsauce
If you don't already know about this channel, then you are missing out. Their main focus is cool unusual questions that you normally wouldn't think about like What Color is a Mirror? and Could the Earth Survive Without the Sun? answered with scientific data wile presented in an entertaining way. Vsauce also has two other channels, Vsauce2 mostly covers lists of cool things on the internet, and cool things people made (art, science) and people accomplishments, wile Vsauce3 covers video games and video game related things.
Numberphile
They focus on maths and the mathematical properties of interesting and famous numbers and paradoxes. A few examples are 666 and Magic Squares, Is 0 even?.
The videos are by Brady Haran, and he also has a few other channels that are good (Computerphile and Sixty Symbols) but I'm to feeling lazy to link them.
Minute Physics
Illustrates psychics in videos, you probably know some of this stuff, but it's worth checking out.
Minute Physics also has a sister channel Minute Earth that is focused on... Earth.
C.G.P Grey
Explains many different things and subject matters ranging from history, science, politics and even some religion with videos explaining historical misconceptions, becoming the Pope and even Groundhog Day.
Smarter Every Day
A good ol' southern family man who's the son of a NASA scientist shares his love of science, slow motion video and firearms.
He has a great series going into detail about helicopters, and has some facts in it you might not even know (like a copper will not crash from losing power)
As you can see, I watch a lot of science related videos.
Some other science related channels on the tubes are Vi Hart, Veritasium and Spacerip.
Mystery Guitar Man (MGM)
This former Brazilian has a passion for video editing and effects wile being very focused on music and seeming to have mastered every single instrument known to mankind, and beyond. He's extremely creative. He loves to figure out tricks for his videos and then he explains how he did it. He's had guests from YouTube stars such as Pewdiepie to Larry King.
Game of Thrones, Final Count Down on rubberbands and printers, Doug Intro, He's even made a couple indie films that are like lost episodes of the Twilight Zone.... I could list his content all day, so I'll stop now. OK! One more: Playable YouTube duck hunt game in 3D
So, that's all I have. What channels do you watch? _________________

YouTube's forcing people over to the YouTube One layout for their channel pages within 14 days, and they're forcing people to tie Google+ accounts into their YouTube accounts soon. You'll have to have a Google+ page dedicated to your channel, and an entire extra pane of Google+ ******** gets added to your account info on YouTube. I made the mistake of accepting it instead of clicking on the X when it prompted me (at least they gave me the option of keeping my channel name, finally) and it was not good. Thankfully you have a period of time to undo the change, 7 days I think, but even when you do so in your YouTube settings, the undo command is something like "temporarily remove Google+" yadda yadda, so that's gonna be forced on us down the road, most likely.
It's like web developers don't understand that people want simplicity. More options are good, but you shouldn't force a whole suite of personal marketing features on normal dudes who just want to list their favourite videos and upload the occasional video. Especially when it's a gimmicky social networking platform that has failed, but they refuse to acknowledge it.
Sorry for hijacking. =P _________________

His gaming opinions tend to match mine, so I use his reviews to choose purchases.
CalibElijah
Doesn't really update anymore, but his renditions of old game music are quality.

For the people who like to draw things:
FZD School focuses on Fantasy and Science Fiction drawings, and how to make them.
ImagineFX you might already know from the magazine of the same name. It is regularly updated with tutorials and speedpaintings, often done by famous deviantArtists.
Scott Robertson demonstrates how designers should be drawing things, and he does so much, much better than anyone on my university. Definitely fun to check out if you're into drawing, copic markers and traditional media, but also photoshop and coloring from grayscale. _________________ Also known as Sliv, Slivvie, Quilvius, Slivendiferious, slivijizzisious and many other names
