Hey guys. I felt like this was a good place to post this since this is a topic on video game discussions. The people behind Eternal Darkness are in the process of making a "sequel" (same type of game, but not necessarily a sequel). They are doing a crowdfunding campaign to help get the game going, which is a bit unfortunate, but if you liked Eternal Darkness, you should really check out what they are doing. The website is below.

Don't. ED is a good game. This will not be. Why? Dyack.

| Quote: | | It is apparent that Silicon Knights' organizational structure is flawed at a fundamental level and that they are literally incapable of making good games anymore. This isn't just about Dyack, it's about SK's overall ineptitude. Their massive brain drain, overall employee inexperience, incompetent management, and the utterly terrible tech they base all their games on. Even if you don't care about Dyack, you should care about this stuff. |
I really, really, want this to be good. But with Dyack involved, the chances of it being so are roughly zero. He's a conman, a lunatic and an incompetent fool. All signs point to the sad remnants of Silicon Knights being comprised of a loose bunch of his lackies.
I want to see an ED sequel as much as anyone, but I have to say, in the strongest terms: avoid this. |

Yeah, I had a small little spark of hope at first. "Sure," I thought, "this was the company that crapped out Too Human but, then again, they also made the original Eternal Darkness. Surely there is something there!"
Then I read the article Jimbob posted and looked into the matter a little more. In summary: RIP hopes for an Eternal Darkness sequel.
That said, if you feel the need to crowd fund a horror game with the potential to be good or, at the very least, interesting, may I recommend either Among the Sleep or the newly launched IndieGoGo campaign for Darkwood? _________________

Ho ho holy crap. That definitely makes me want to stay away from any game with Dyack in the driver's seat.
Basically the only reason anyone could hope this game could be good is that hopefully Nintendo won't stand for a steaming pile of that magnitude being one of their anticipated titles. |

To be fair, someone is addressing these exact same concerns in the Precursor forums. I thank you, Jimbob, for bringing this article up, since I had no idea something like that had happened. _________________

"But the studio's chief financial officer, Mike Mays, tells Polygon that the few remaining Silicon Knights employees are "very busy" and the studio is "definitely alive."
