So how will the game check to see if you have the original game? I beat the original, so would it just check my save file?

It just imports your save file. If you have a save file, you get the ****.

I assume at least. That's how most stuff like this works; see Borderlands.

10th level skills are cool, but no new vocations? I would at least hope they allow hybrid vocations for pawns.

They can't really allow hybrid stuff for pawns unless they deactivate certain skills since several of the hybrid ones only "work" as arisen skills. It'd be nice if they gave pawns a way to obtain hybrid augments, but I don't think they should actually have the ability to be hybrid classes.

What skills, exactly, won't work for pawns? I mean, yeah, two or more mystic knights will literally make your system blow up from magick cannon, but I can't really think of anything else that'd be restrictive (granted I've never touched the magick archer class but eh)

and I just watched the trailer, at the end- **** Zodd. The devs really like Berserk, don't they?

The Magick Archer's Sacrificial Bolt, for instance. It sacrifices a pawn's life in exchange for a lot of damage. It really only makes sense as an arisen skill.

Niiice. I want my unlimited ferrystones. That alone is worth it.

I gotta agree this alone is awesome but all the other bonuses are nice as well. Although I totally expect the flood of Japanese-speaking pawns now with the occasional English ones. It's gonna be like playing fighters online all over again. ^^;

I don't think it'll work like that. Think more along the lines of Soul Calibur IV's character creator (don't know how V handled things.)

http://www.siliconera.com/2013/04/25/dragons-dogma-dark-arisen-flirting-with-death/ So there are actually some things in here that we didn't know about before. Apparently the menu system's been streamlined, and the game has a higher resolution texture pack (presumably an optional install) so the game looks a lot better. Sounds **** sweet to me!

With a 1.5 GB install, I still think the graphics are a bit bland. How much worse were the textures? And they couldn't have gotten rid of the bars on the top and bottom?

Why is it that everywhere I venture with my character the monsters seem to annihilate me in seconds, while I do little to no damage? Went into a well, lizards destroyed me; went to blackbitter isle, wolves killed me. Am I doing something extremely wrong?

what level are you? Assuming you just started, you should stick to the road between Cassardis and Gran Soren. although Saurians are beatable around level 5+

You take a lot of damage really quickly in this game if you aren't careful. Use your shield a lot in close combat. Avoid bandits especially, for a good while. Saurians are basically the first "obstacle," you'll be fighting them easily in no time, but right out of the gate they're rough on your health. If you're not playing as a Fighter with heavy armour definitely expect to be kind of squishy throughout the game.

I would assume that Blackbitter isle is geared toward higher-leveled characters, so avoid that for now.
