From that angle you have a point (in that case what a curse of a name).
To me though, strong will and stubborn are complete opposites.
Strong will means you're either unbreakable or close to it.
Stubborn means your rigid and will hold onto something no matter the reason. Which is more negative feeling compared to determined which has a more forward thinking feel.
Spoiler =Natchigal changed because he lost his sister and couldn't get over it right? Seems like he's a foil to Rowen who had a strong enough will to move on eventually while Natchigal wouldn't let himself and became so bad because of it. That's how I saw it anyway.

"Gate" (localized as "mana lobe") is not the name of magic users; it's the name of the part of the brain that emits mana.
Spell casting goes like this:
The people of Elenpios also have mana lobes, but they are inactive. That said, there are a few people with active mana lobes, but they're really rare, and probably not very skilled (no place to learn about spirits artes, plus the lack of spirits). _________________

Tales of Xillia 2 - Unused Alt World Ideas
(Source: Tales of Xillia 2 Official World Guidance Book)
The guide tells us a little about some ideas the creative team had for Alt Worlds but that ended up not being used.
WARNING: XILLIA 2 SPOILERS
A world without Leia
The party enters the Alt World in Lu Rondo, and by talking to NPC realize they don’t know Leia. They discover that Leia’s mother Sonia married a different man than Leia’s father. By talking to him, they learn that a long time ago, he wanted to ask her out but never got the courage to. That small difference was enough to prevent Leia for existing. As in the Real World, Jude went to med school and the world goes on mostly unchanged. This feeds into Leia’s self-doubts but she also treasures the luck of being born in her world.
A world where Ludger rejected his fate
In this world, Alt!Ludger has abandoned his mission, because he didn’t want to hurt anyone anymore - and besides, since he comes from an Alternate World, he knew that he was doomed to disappear one day, so might as well spend what’s left of his life as a normal person. Real!Ludger destroys this world with conflicted feelings.
Lady Nadia’s vacation
A world where Agria lived a happy life as Nadia Travis. There is a festival in Ha Mir, and the party finds her there with Alt!Elise and Alt!Leia. They watch as the three of them have fun dancing, and then, suddenly, they spot Gaius (or an Alt!Gaius, not sure) and Alt!Leia and Alt!Elise push a nervous Nadia toward him and they exchange a few words. Nadia goes back to her friends and the party can hear her whisper “he’s even more cool than I imagined” and the three of them giggle. They then disappear into the crowd, and Leia watches them go, her heart aching for her world’s Agria tragic life and fate. She resolves never to forget “that Agria”.
An ironic fate
A world where Milla eventually destroyed Exodus, but later than in F4216’s Alt!Milla’s world. Alt!Jude works with Professor Hauss and they’re making big progress in… gin research! Alt!Milla tries to hinder their research and Alt!Jude manages to escape her and entrust his data to Real!Leia. When the party goes back to the Real World, the data turns to dust…
Gaius and Wingull
In this world, Wingull never joined Gaius, and opposed him as the Londau patriarch. He and Alt!Gaius are archenemies, and he tries to capture Alt!Gaius and publicly execute him. For that, he uses Carla. But Alt!Gaius abandons his sister because he can’t let go of his ambition. The party watches those events unfold, and Gaius ends up taking out Alt!Wingull and Alt!Gaius himself. _________________
