I also don't pair anyone in Vesperia but I could see Judith/Yuri casually and possibly Flynn/Estelle, but I really can't see any of the cast with each other without some kind of push they're all just good friends and a big family imo _________________

There was only one case where this was off-putting to me and it was in an anime. The main protagonist is nine years old and yet she talks about some pretty heavy things that a child her age wouldn't even remotely think about. I think some of you know it: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
Just to name an example, she claims her life has no direction right at the start of the series. I know they tell you to suspend your disbelief in fiction, but this is just a little out there for me. I don't think a nine year old would be thinking about such compelling things as trust between herself and a complete stranger and getting mad at the stranger for not being honest with her. |

Maybe we should move on to the next Tales? Does anyone have anything to add about Vesperia? _________________

Let Hearts R be remade internally for PS3 with HD sprites.

You're trying to make the ultimate version of Hearts. You can acknowledge or ignore Hearts R as you wish.
As for me:
---
When I state changes, I'm talking about making changes from the DS version.
-Put this on PS4. Still retain 3D environments and 2D sprites but at much higher resolution
-4 characters in battles. Panel assists and the like are still in, just assignable to the right control stick.
-Galad exists now, so incorporate him without harming the original story. Same for playable Chal.
-LMBS can stay mostly the same, though add in limiters to keep you from repeatedly spamming the same move.
But really, not much. Hearts was fantastic as-is. _________________ Gaming in 2013:

- Chal availability in the Re-imagination.
Sure, keep him as a playable character until you get the Lionheit(or whatever that thing is spelled).
But the party NEEDS leave him behind during the whole Quartzia thing.
After gaining access to Gardenia. You can trigger the sidequest where you find another Warheit (like the DS version), except this time is not a toy (or whatever it was), and returns to the party. _________________

Never played it.
However, I did learn from another topic that in Hearts R, they removed 1 spell per element. I also learned that the first 3 Wind spells (out of 4) are known by 3 characters: Amber, Jadeite and Kunzite. There seems to be a redundancy here...
I don't know why... but I'd go with having 6 spells per element (2 spells per tier) and that the character that specialized in that element learn all 6 of them, while his or her secondary elements could cap at 3. Beryl is specialized in 3 elements (water, earth and lightning), so she would learn all 6 spells from these and only 3 from any other element, in her case Darkness.
With all the spells we've gotten so far, they would have a lot of choice.
Also, am I the only one who thinks that Innes should cast offensive water/ice spells? Half her moveset are water elemental artes... kind of odd that she doesn't cast a single water spell. |

Make the world map more than just a maze and give the game ToDr or ToR level sprites. Make it so moves get weaker the more you use them to prevent spam.
That's all really. Hearts is great. |

Tales of Hearts: Translator's Cut
also, the good changes from ToHR... like Galad, maybe the slight changes to the ending, discouraging arte spam, Chase Link, team arena, costumes, immediate world map, console graphics... that's about it probably _________________ Mint-III

-Bring it to the next generation console in the DS line
The beauty of the original Hearts is that it is built around utilizing the system's features without being overly gimmicky. The ultimate version of Hearts, therefore, would feel right at home on the next Nintendo handheld.
Or, alternatively, pull a Square Enix and put it on iOS. I kid.
-Combine the graphical styles of Tales of Graces F and Tales of Vesperia.
I feel that Tales of Graces F's watercolor art style doesn't get enough love. On the other hand, I really love Vesperia's cel-shading. I think a combination of the two styles would bring the vibrant character designs of Hearts together like never before.
As an aside... the animation in the Seventh Chord games isn't as detailed as the mainline Namco games. It's especially apparent in battles. A properly animated 3D Hearts remake would be beautiful. Bring in the Vesperia people -- I loved the battle animation in that game.
-Keep Chalcedony... and Galad
In the DS version, I kept waiting and waiting for Chal to join up, but he never did. He was fun to play as in Hearts R, so let's keep him around in the hypothetical ToH: Ultimate Version DX.
And then there's Galad. Instead of turning him into a resident of the Triverse, rewrite him so that he's a more integrated part of the world of Hearts. They did a better job with him than with QQ or Kongwei, but I think Hearts should stand on its own, rather than being tied to multiple universes. If that means giving Galad a bit of a rewrite, so be it.
Stick to the DS game structure and script, but throw some new stuff from the remake in for good measure
Hearts R's dungeons were VERY different from the original version. Sinister brainteasers were replaced by relatively simple switch puzzles, and one of the sorcerer's ring attachments was replaced by a silly teleporter activator. Additionally, some story events were removed completely. The ultimate version of Hearts should stick to the DS script (with Galad and Chalcedony written into it in an INTELLIGENT way).
Combine the world map styles of Graces and Xillia
Hearts' world map was unique, but boring. Hearts R's world map was lazy, but functional. A new version of Hearts gives Namco a good opportunity to perfect the non-traditional field system. Combine the open areas of Xillia was the more structured map of Graces F, and you've got a winner.
Turn the Energy Stone into an Eleth Pot system
In many ways, the Heal Stone in Hearts felt like it was building towards the Eleth Pot in Graces. I'd love to see it return in another game.
Let Sakuraba arrange his own music, please!
I hated Innocence's soundtrack. I loved Hearts', and after hearing the RM3 remixes, I felt like a fully remastered soundtrack from Sakuraba would be beautiful. But no, let's bring Nakamura back in and turn everything into a techno screechfest. Um, NO. Bring back Sakuraba and let him remaster Hearts' soundtrack his own way.
Update the battle system by keeping the core of the original DS version intact while incorporating a few elements from the remake
I'll admit -- the battle system in Hearts R was better than I expected. At the same time, however, I felt it lost a lot of the charm that the DS version had. For a second remake (which, to be perfectly frank, I wouldn't mind *shot*) I'd like to see them stay more true to the original CNAR-LMBS, while adding a few new additions...
A. Here's a single Link Gauge to the side of the screen. Calling in inactive characters for support, summoning cameo characters, and utilizing Combination Artes drains the gauge. Once at level 3, you can activate Mystic Artes. Once at level 4, dual Mystic Artes can be used.
B. The Emotional Gauge NEEDS to come back. I've always liked this feature since it essentially combined the RG from Rebirth and CC from Tales of Destiny/Graces. Balance it by increasing EG costs the more you spam. Bring that **** back, Namco!
C. I get the idea behind Chase Link, but in Hearts R, I felt it was either a.) useless or b.) completely broken. Sometimes, you'll get that blue circle when an enemy is nearly dead, thus rendering the new mode useless. When it does work, it's practically unfair. It's free damage, and the enemy stays stunned until Chase Link time runs out. Additionally, only one character could be tied to a Linked enemy at the same time. Want to help Chal combo in the air, Shing? Sorry, but you'll have to Shouseijin your way up to your fairy friend if you want to continue the assault.
A new Chase Point system makes multi-character aerial combos more practical. Instead of Chase Links, each character has a regenerating pool of Chase Points. By pressing Up and Y, you'll regenerate some EG and instantly teleport towards an enemy. CP pools are relatively small (the max should be 3 or 4) and it takes some time to regenerate (indicated by the decimal point).
D. Lastly, the game can be balanced by turning enemies into Xillia bosses.
Kidding.
I really liked the concept behind the Blast Gauge in Destiny PS2. In order to provide more balance, I'd like to see them incorporate a similar feature in Tales of Hearts RX or whatever. Spamming makes the gauge increase faster, so save your Shouseijins.
Just on one last note -- I really liked that they allowed you to set Artes to the O button in Hearts R instead of normal attacks. I'd really like to see them bring that feature back in Hearts RX: Namco's Reckoning Edition. _________________ || :.YouTube | Backloggery | ToGF in 30 Sec. | ToIR Playthrough Videos.: || |
