| I started this game during Spring Break, got bored during the character creator phase, then stopped. |

The class barely even matters since levels aren't capped, you can build your character any way you want and you can find each set of starting equipment in the wild. The only real catch is whether you want the thief's key...And I think there was another class-exclusive item? _________________

Any class can pick the master key, the item choice is non-exclusive. There's no reason to take anything other than the master key, either. I fell for the trick and took the pendant first time |

I always play a Thief-like class, so I went Thief and took the Pendant. Best of both worlds! I forgot that you could get the Master Key as your gift.
You can get the Pendant in-game, but I heard conflicting stories of how to get it (I think you have to kill an NPC that you might not necessarily want to.) Looking it up, you can actually buy the Master Key for pretty cheap later on (when it's not as relevant, but whatever.) _________________

I don't think this was possible until a later patch. But it's no big deal, not selecting the master key the first time lets you experience the entire game and everything it has to offer. I went with the pendant my first time too. _________________

There's the problem, Britta probably has a PS3 and therefore it would've been X. _________________

I have the PC version, but it runs horribly on my computer.
Maybe I can actually play it when I buy a computer with a decent processor. |

I've got a question; I'm trying to pick up my Dark Souls playthrough, but I can't remember where I should be heading.
When I left off, I had just beaten Quelaag. I had three ways to go; beyond the boss room and into hell, which definitely seems like a bad idea right now (I think I ran into a dead end anyway.)
There was the valley area stemming from Blighttown with the dragon on the ledge; I didn't feel like fighting the dragon (I assume that leads to the Valley of the Drakes?) but I did open the gate and go back to Firelink Shrine (I haven't ventured in the area between that valley and Firelink, you know, the place you could go to right from the start by going down the elevator in Firelink.)
The third path was towards The Great Hollow, through the fake wall in the tree. I saved just beyond there.
I can't remember what the cutscene after the second bell told me; did it open Sen's Fortress and I should be going there next?
I also still haven't touched The Catacombs since the early moments of the game, but I don't know what I need to succeed in there. _________________

Go for the Great Hollow. It's an area that isn't beyond your abilities (it's mostly really tricky navigation), has some great rewards, and the area beyond it is just beautiful with some good loot. Won't take you long all around.
After that, yeah, go to Sen's Fortress. The hellish area is pretty much the last place you should be going before the endgame. It's also terrible, unfortunately. Valley of the Drakes is actually a very small area linking Firelink, Blighttown and the New Londo area below Firelink, but you won't get any benefits from going to New Londo just now. The dragon's remarkably easy if you watch his attacks, and you can get some decent loot from around him, but there's literally nothing else to the area. Feels like it got cut short a bit. |

Oh, so the valley I mentioned IS the Valley of the Drakes. Got it. Also I could never remember the name of New Londo Ruins, so thanks for that.
Should I attempt any exploration in the area beyond the Great Hollow? Also, what's the area connected to Blacksmith Andrei's place? This isn't based on anything, but I would assume that that place and the Great Hollow would be connected. _________________

The place next to Andre is Darkroot Garden, which is optional for now, but not later. The other place is Sen's. Neither are connected to Great Hollow. _________________
