So true. ToH's my fave scenario in the whole series, and I already had a bad feeling when they started mentionning the triverse, like they would mess up these awesome story and characters. I still haven't played ToHr myself, but from what I've seen, I just can't understand why they changed things that actually made sense into some... let's say not-so-coherent stuff, even when it's unrelated to the triverse scenario. I must say, I kinda facepalm'd when I read what you said about Incarose.
For some reason, I sometimes didn't get the same feelings from the voice acting, or how some scenes were presented, which I find a pity. I mean, I have listened to the drama CDs, | Quote: | | I remember how I was moved by Creed's last moments in it. But I almost didn't feel a thing from the remake version of this scene. |
Somehow it makes me want it to not be released outside Japan. -> _________________

on the bright side, it does look like a fun time. just don't expect this to be the definitive version of the story of tales of hearts. |
In the end the remake was just an excuse for NBGI to have a senseless playfield with lots and lots of voices. I don't keep track of the amount of voice actors in Tales games, but HR had 54 and that seemed like a f*cking lot to me for a minor entry on an unproven handheld system... Next I'll look who's credited for scenario this time. |

You think that's a lot? Try Zero Evo and its whopping 170 voice actors >_>. Worse yet, it's fully voiced (except for some new sidequest added to Evo version) and the scenario is 4 million kanjis long. Even Tatsuya Kakihara's script for Lloyd (the main character) has 1200 pages. Did I mention that this is a Vita game?
Did you know that Zero no Kiseki shares three of its seiyuu with Hearts? Lloyd=Shing, Randy=Creed, and Wazy=Incarose. _________________ MAI GAGHARV TRILOGY PLAYTHROUGH!

Oh, that explains those tumblr posts with those six together, and Randy wearing his clothes.
And makes you wonder eh, that much content and the Kiseki series still manages to deliver better plots and consistencies than other Tales games. _________________

It's Hearts R's pre-order bonus. I'm not positive, but I think you might be able to still get it if you order now. _________________ Gaming in 2013:

Um, Flamfas, you're talking about Infinite Evolve.
We're talking about The Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki Evolution. The voiced Vita port of the PSP game, Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki, the sequel to the Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky trilogy.
The dialogue, plot, and script size of that game surpasses any Tales game ever.

If you know Japanese, a lot of it, and have played the Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky/Sora no Kiseki trilogy, then go get it at Play-Asia.
But if not, and I think that's the case because you're asking what Zero no Kiseki is, I suggest don't. The Sora no Kiseki trilogy is connected to Zero no Kiseki, and some plot points (which may be major or minor, so I've heard and read from Irueru's post in the LoH topic) will make better sense and connection if you've played the previous games. Also, the game's dialogue and script is HUGE. And the major enjoyment of these games are the plot and character interactions, so, you can't tackle it blank like with Tales games, since we play Tales for the combat.
XSeed is still working on the second chapter of the Trails in the Sky/Sora no Kiseki trilogy.
I suggest, though, if you have a PSP, get the Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. One of the best JRPGs I've played ever. The characters, dialogue, and plot are all interesting and great. _________________

Mao pls wrong game
IRUERU AND RADGE REPRESENT
Play for godly OST. But yeah Dylan here pretty much summed things up here, I know Reala knows Japanese, but like Dylan said, play the Sora trilogy first, then the Crossbell duology after. Now as much as I would to ramble on about Falcom we should probably stop derailing the Hearts thread.
tdlr play all the Kiseki games _________________

Well, Falcom has its own premium niche caved out. They were a PC exclusive developer in a country where besides them basically only doujin developers released games for it, always doing excellent work, always listening to fans and never (!) making any loss nevertheless. Profiting of off licensed ports by other publishers.
I don't think Tales and NBGI is quite in the same position at all. |

That's why everyone here in this forum should go out, buy Ys Seven, Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Ys I and II: Chronicles, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Downloaded off from PSN works too!
Seriously. Go buy them.
Falcom does tend to milk Kiseki a lot though. But then again, an excellent series is damn worthy to be milked compared to..."Reimaginations".
If you're gonna reimagine them, make them in a level like Wanderers from Ys -> Oath in Felghana.
To make this Hearts related: I'm thinking of starting Hearts up again, since there are walkthroughs now. _________________

- they turned kohaku into a violent tsundere?
- i guess they decided kohaku can totally fight just fine with kindness, fear, and trust? (no courage required?)
on the plus side,
- kunzite's costumes, wow
- beryl <3 <3 <3
and yeah the eloi (pictured on the coin) were from the bonus dungeon/nam cobanda isle in the original |
Most of what you mentioned was par for course for most main characters anyway, he's still a shounen character and he's still more or less the same as he was. Besides this game is basically made in mind that you have played tales of hearts already(at least that's how it feels to me)so the changes don't really bother me. That said I'm glad there are changes because I don't want to play the exact game with no story changes at all or else I may as well just play the DS game. _________________ music is like candy throw away the rapers |
