Innocence R is fun. I don't really have much problems with it besides the graphics being awful and QQ being worse.
Dunno why I haven't finished it yet. Doesn't seem to have that Tales "hook" for me, I dunno. Even though it does feel like a mothership Tales you can tell it's not by Namco somehow. _________________

-Keep Kongwai's lines but extend back Ange's entrance speech to its original length
-If it was taken out (I wasn't sure) have Ricardo mention everyone's dreams when he rejoins on the boat
-hint at QQ's hidden agenda more often (ie show her sly side more than three times)
-A farewell scene for QQ and Kongwai, they really feel like complete parts of the team, then at the end they just poof with Ruca going where are they and Spada giving a like 3 sentence explaination? OH NO, I think they should be given a formal farewell that leaves the ToI original cast perplexed and confused before they regretfully move on
-More generous with the guard counter mechanic reaction time
-A scene with Sian at the very end. Illia's parents talk about adopting him and seem pretty set on doing it. I want to see him with Illia's family one more time.
-Show Illia's siblings in sidequests (they were sent into hiding from what I remember?)
-More information on Ange's big brother would be super xD
-Show Spada's siblings, have them appear in a couple sidequests and let them be the jerks that they are. I feel this would really impact Ruca as well.
-Give Illia Aqua Bullet back
-Give Hermana Pow Pow Hammer as a spell (it was completely removed from the game)
-Put back the original EX Dungeon (revamped) alongside the Triverse Gate
-Give one more battle against Thitose late game
-Possibly, put a mechanism in the arena that summons a makeshift version of the casts' past selves and make them fightable matches
Very small detail:
-Have Ruca list everyone off again when he arrives at Illia's village like he did in the first game. It isn't a big thing, he says literally better stuff IMO after a better resolution scene, but it was sweet and nostalgic and he did it in the trailer for the first game xD _________________

Never played it... go figure...
However, something I've noticed is that Hermana in Innocence had like 7 spells (Pow Pow Hammer, Holy Lance, Cyclone, Stalagmite, Tidal Wave, Spiral Flare and Black Hole), but in Innocence R, she only has 4 spells (Barrier, Pow Hammer, Resist and Sharpness). Sounds like an odd move if you ask me.
Yes, Kongwai cast spells only, but he would have been balanced by the fact that QQ doesn't cast spells at all. Hermana's spell removal is rather weird... because every other characters could cast spells.
Was Hermana broken in some ways in the DS version? Because after seeing some footage, she came out as a cool magic knight-like character, who fight with her fists. |

No, they just nerfed everyone else's magic capabilities so that Kongwai would be THE magic user of the group. Kind of dumb, I will admit. _________________

I think the reason Hermana's spells got removed was because she isn't associated with any of the elements anyway so she shouldn't have higher level spells and giving her only lower ones is just sad. (mid-tiered might be nice at least) Not many people would use Hermana as a mage anyway considering how well she does at close range... Guess it does make sense for her to have spells though considering the fact that she was a wise dragon
Iria's decent enough with a rather high M.ATK rivalling Kongwai and have two elements (and Ricardo too except his M.ATK is not very impressive). But well, Kongwai gets all the elements anyway...
I found everyone pretty balanced in terms of their new movesets though, Luca, Spada and Hermana are supposed to be in the front lines most of the time so they should have little spells. Iria and Ricardo should be supporting behind and thus should also have spells other than their normal artes. Ange is just a melee who gets enough artes and also just enough spells to be casting when not healing everyone else with Nurse. _________________

Agreed here. Though it was a good title for a handheld (pick up and play gameplay)
-- Less boring dungeons
-- Make more of the friendship system and implement in more Tales games
-- Less boring world (which is funny because the ancient past was wonderful, but then we're given stock-Euro towns, or something, later...Ruca's town is a goddamn maze because every corner looks the same).
-- Guilds: good idea, boring execution

I also feel this way. I like the new movesets MUCH more than the old ones, the old ones felt lazy like they just slapped everything class related on and the spells on Hermana were cool I guess? But they made no sense to me. It would have been alright to give her all the mid-tier spells I guess. Right now she's a Buffer and Pikohan user which I don't mind, it fits her (And Vritra) perfectly.
The new movesets are also comprised of mostly original attacks for most people, which i ADORED, everyone has attacks unique to them alone!
If I had to change the game in that degree I think I'd just add in the two things i talked about in my post.
Also Dice reminded me:
-Bring back guilds and quests, but make them less....weird. Put missions in normal dungeons (or bring back random guild ones just make them not so confusing) The guilds thing was kind of cool _________________

I agree with Shiv. The new artes the cast received made them more unique.
It's more noticeable on Ricardo, since half of his artes were spells AND instant casted versions of those spells.
Innocence R is a great remake (for Innocence). The only thing I don't like is QQ design and speech. _________________

I mean I LOVE QQ but her speech patterns I do not love. They were annoying, because it took her FOREVER to get a sentence out. Admittedly its because she actually WAS fighting to find the right words, and I feel bad about that, but it also was annoying. _________________
