Character Designs

I'm wondering what people thought of the character designs for Abyss, because I always thought the colour was really lacking from the main cast. Everybody basically had a combination of brown, white, and green, and then Anise was the only one who stood out because she had some pink and purple. I liked the designs but the lack of colour variety always stuck out to me.

Luke: White/red orange/brown with a touch of gold
Tear: Brown with a touch of gold/white
Jade: Blue with a touch of gold
Anise: Pink/white with a touch of purple
Guy: Yellow orange/white/brown with a touch of gold/green
Natalia: White/Green with a touch of brown
Asch: Black with red

So the cast mostly has white/blue/green/yellow/orange/pink/red/brown/black. Not sure what else you really need to add, to be honest.

EDIT: Oh, and Tear also has maroon. How can I forget? >.>;;

They look a bit... pale in game, yes.
But I thought that they (or rather their clothes XD) looked really good in Vesperia

The engine doesn't render them at their most colorful, but there's nothing wrong with it - it's just not as shiny a graphical engine as Vesperia.

I thought the subtleties of the designs were really nice - whether it's Luke's "angry tamagotchi" on the back of his shirt, Jade's Pac-man belt buckle, or (my personal favorite) the musical instrument motif of Tear's uniform (Seriously! It evokes a violin or a cello - the 'strings' are the lines down the front, and her collar is marked with the F-shaped things that you see next to the bridge on that sort of instrument); Super awesome clever details.

By comparison, the Vesperia designs are pretty generic - Yuri is dressed as Generic_Swashbuckler_03. And the Graces designs, well, someone described Asbel as looking like the bastard child of a pimp and Space Elton John, and I don't think they were too far off. (Don't even get me started on Cheria "What this outfit needs is more bows!" Barnes)

I think Abyss had some pretty good designs - except Tear.

That dress is so drab. Make it shorter (it doesn't have to be risqué; knee length would do) and add a little more color.

What's up with the whole "bright colors=good designs" theme in this thread? By that metric, Graces has the best designs EVAR.

I don't necessarily think that, but Tear's design seems lifeless to me. It's too brown.
