uh hi.
my name's vito, as you can obviously tell. i've been an active member in another gaming series' online community for more than 2 years now and the tales series appeals to me so much that i figured i might as well make an account here.
i started getting into tales games around may of last year, when i bought tales of symphonia: dotnw thinking it would be a good game considering it was a sequel to such an allegedly fantastic game. that didn't turn out to be the case and i have not touched that game since i last played it (i like just got colette iirc). i borrowed symphonia from a friend and that's when i fell in love with the series. since then, i've beaten symphonia, abyss, graces (2 times after accidentally overwriting a completed file with a new one) and i'm currently playing vesperia ps3 version, where i'm in tarqaron and god damn i am extremely underleveled, and also some challenge runs of the other games. anyways, i've been into rpgs/jrpgs ever since and i've gotten into other series like final fantasy, star ocean 4 international, and persona 3 (which has to be one of my favourite games of all time).
i try not to bite and i know how to use a forum, considering i've used several for 2+ years. hopefully i can make some new friends here. |

Welcome to the forums, always good to have new members around!
And yeah, Tarqaron is a huuuge dungeon, so have fun with that. You make me want to play the game again though, haha. _________________ Gaming in 2013:

Hello Vito,
welcome to the forums!
I'm one of the few people on this forum who likes DotNW. I would like to ask you to give it another try because it does get better the further you progress, but it indeed isn't anything like the original symphonia at all. No pressure.
I'd recommend playing Phantasia if you haven't done so already, which is set chronologically after Symphonia. The GBA version is horrible though, Phantasia X or Dejap's Phantasia are much better (or so I've heard).
Your avatar is slightly too large, it should be 100px by 100px at most.
I hope you'll have a wonderful stay!

the lack of a multi-quote button is very irritable but alas

appreciated.
i just got there yesterday and i'm trying to get through the game without as little walkthrough help as i possibly can get. i'm playing on normal and i'm only levels 49-52, yet i haven't really had any problems with bosses or gigantos. oh well, won't hurt to grind.

i am going to try my best to go through dawn of the new world sometime in the future. i have a huge list of games that i want to play/need to play and i want to get that resolved first before i tackle that game. i'll get around to it soon.
i considered doing the gba version but i'll consider one of your options or just do the original; whatever's more manageable for me. my bad on the avatar, the other forum i'm active in has 120x120 avatars for regular, 150x150 for VIPs (which I am) so i'm used to a generally larger avatar. |

This forum uses rather outdated software.
Large avatars stretch the webpage, and as you noticed, multi-quote wasn't available at the time for whatever reason.
What were your first impressions of the Tales Games you've played? _________________ Also known as Sliv, Slivvie, Quilvius, Slivendiferious, and slivijizzisious
