The English voices are pretty good, actually. Unless English dubs utterly repulse you I don't think you'll have any problems with it. _________________

And yeah, Bryce did an awesome Henry.

I love the support conversations between parents and children, and siblings. They're just so warm and daaawwww. Especially Severa's supports with her parents.
Frederick and Panne have one of the most cliched, but hilarious, supports ever. _________________

i'm not saying they were the most fun things ever, but it was nice to have a little mission variety. they also took out those things your archers could get into to shoot shots really far which was kinda lame =( |
Given the haste with how quickly enemies chase after my cleric if she's in range, I realized I'd be cool without fancy missions (one of the side missions had some merchants on the field who'd march right into enemies).
It's my first FE, so a lot is confusing and weird to me (I'm sure the DLC map gave a nostalgia boner to some), but I'm loving it like crazy.
While they're not necessarily "long" exchanges, kudos to the localization team for putting this game out pretty quickly even with the sheer amount of character relationship-building chats there are.
Sorry Ni no Kuni. You're gonna collect dust for a bit, you're just not as fun in certain/many ways. _________________ Updated Feb, 22,'13~!! *

I'm psyched to hear what Bryce sounds like in this game now. Still waiting for Gamestop to get their shipment in. :/ |

Ughh, I need help training Donnel. Did anyone do it, and how did you? I feel bad because he's lagging behind at level 3 while everyone's already 6-8.
His Aptitude skill is pretty boss, so I know he's going to be one of those units that steamrolls everything after you baby them. _________________

The best way is to pair him up with a unit that increases his defense or speed for better survivability. Grind on those places that have low to medium levels of Risen (I suggest Chapters 1 - 3 areas using Reeking Boxes).
Let Donny take the last hit of any enemy, when it's safe to leave him open after. Bring units that most likely won't finish the enemy in one hit.
It took a lot of planning and praying to Anna (RNG Goddess) for my Donny to survive and when he gets past level 10, he can go on his own. I suggest reclass him at level 15 to get all his skills.
For me though, I just went ahead when he was level 13 (Didn't know about his Underdog skill until earlier) and made him into a Mercenary.
Now, he doesn't need to baby anyone, rather, he babies Frederick LOL. And of course, when paired with Nowi (SHOTACON), they're unstoppable. _________________

yeah i pretty much dropped NNK completely for FE(FE much better)
also it's a lot easier to use your healer in this game because you can send her on much more risky missions so long as there's someone there to pair up with her before the turn ends _________________

I think my avatar is strong with Magic and weak in Luck. Thank you Lunar! |
That means your Morgan will have +1 Strength, +3 Magic, +3 Skill, +5 Speed, -3 Luck, +1 Defense, and +2 Resistance as her max stat modifiers. If you want true balance, Grandmaster is pretty much your best bet for anyone who can be that class. All stats when maxed will hover around the 40-45 mark, and the Ignis skill can help compensate one way or the other regardless of your attack type (melee or magic). If you wanted to take advantage of her greatest asset, you could put her in a class geared toward speed ... Swordmaster and Assassin would both give her a pretty hefty 51 Speed if capped, with Falcon Knight not far behind at 49. Regardless, the stat spread you have is fairly neutral and actually positive in every aspect but luck, so she could do well in any class, really. _________________

Ugh, I was hoping to wait it out on this game, but I kind of got nervous that the game is selling out at places and I was able to use a gift card. I also got the art pamphlet. It's like the Xenoblade one, but thinner. I'm not asking for Hyrule Historia here, but c'mon... I'll even take a pdf with some more concept and promo art. _________________

Yeah, the artbook is awful. Like you said, it's a pamphlet and hardly complete and has weird choices of who gets put in and who doesn't. I like that they put in concept art at least... but that's it. The actual art book is about $70, and I'm not really feeling it (I love Yusuke Kozaki, but some designs/faces feel so copy/paste-y; and maybe it's a FE thing, but a lot of the females in the game look borderline ridiculous).
Either I'm too prepped, or maybe I should turn the difficulty up. I love the replay value anyways, and I admire a game that encourages shipping. _________________ Updated Feb, 22,'13~!! *

| So I think I'm being protected by the RNG or something, apart from losing Miriel a couple of times because she's just so damn useless, I haven't had any deaths... and I really should have, from how often I've left units in horribly dangerous situations like leaving Tharja in the range of three cavaliers and two knights who hit for half her health with a 60% hit chance, or leaving my pegasi in an archer's sights a few more times than I'd prefer, or having mage Nowi just barely survive an assault by a Hero, Falcon Knight, and Barbarian with 3 HP left... |

I'm pretty sure the idea was to bring all of the Crusaders' weapons under a common northern European mythological naming scheme. Gungnir, Balmung, Tyrfing, Mystletainn, and the Valkyrie Staff were already Norse, some Treasure misspellings aside, and the Gae Bolg was part of the Ulster Cycle. Thorhammer and Holsety were streamlined into Mjolnir and Forseti to enhance the references. I believe Valflame was chosen to evoke "valr", the same root word that's found in Valkyrie and Valhalla to reference those that it slays on the battlefield. Yewfelle was likely selected because the original "ichii" was probably in reference to 櫟, the yew tree, which has connections to both Yggdrasil (either a yew or ash tree) and a favored material for bows. Helswath is probably a reference to Hel, the Norse underworld. _________________
