Ha, I'm tempted to go for casual mode now (probably will on harder difficulties) and if people accuse me of not being a 'real' Fire Emblem fan, I'll just tell them I bought the effing game and leave it at that.
I'm tempted to find the soundtrack for this, but is it supposed to be any good? Even if it isn't, I'll probably do it for a select songs *cough*beachandhotspringthemes*cough*.
And another random question: does anyone actually use the Reclass system? It seemed kinda gimmicky to me, but maybe it's actually super useful and I'm just dumb. I've just been thinking about it since 'Reclass' looks like it's going to keep appearing in FE games. _________________

I would have tried it in FE12, but you get so many characters, that it's kind of pointless, lol. I DID use it for my custom character though. (switched from archer as soon as myrmidon was available)
In Awakening though, I heard you can learn skills from different classes, so that might be a better reason to switch. _________________

Yeah, you have five skill slots, and you only gain two skills from each class. (so you'd know four total if you went, say, Cavalier -> Paladin and left it at that). If you abuse re-classing, you can create some awesome skill setups, particularly with the avatar since he/she can be any class as long as it's gender-appropriate. Bow Slayer + Sword Slayer + Lance Slayer + Axe Slayer + Magic Slayer would give you +50 hit and +50 avoid in pretty much every situation, for instance. _________________

reclass was marginally useful at best, only good for gaining Res or making a fighter into a pirate for the added mobility and other trivial ****. I feel like it was wasted on SD/NM.
But Awakening reclass is much different, in fact possibly gamebreaking- it resets the character's level to 1 of that tier. And they can keep all their old skills, so as long as you have change seals, you can switch classes at level 20 for more and more level ups and skills and ****. _________________

Wait, switching in Awakening resets level to 1 but doesn't reset stat growth? Sounds incredibly broken. I'll try not to abuse it. _________________

Right. When you change classes, stat changes are based on the difference between the base stats of the old class and new class. _________________

...Sigh. Another disappointing feature. But yes, I gotta keep the game challenging for myself.

Dude, nothing stops you from continuing the game just because you feel guilty of a character unit's passing. _________________

To be fair in order to reclass you need an item named Class Proof and that item can be kinda expensive. _________________

seriously?
you think the only reason someone would want to restart the game when a unit dies is because they feel guilty? |

I restart because dammit that was a character I spent time and effort on and now they're gone and I don't want to build up someone else now. Also they probably took some of my stuff with me. _________________

Okay, I will admit I kinda feel this way, but I restart because I'm a perfectionist and I like having all the units in my army at the end of the game.
Speaking of units, pipe dream of mine is the game will be dubbed like the Japanese game and each unit will have a different voice actor. But alas, it would be seriously hard to find 40+ VAs in Amerikuh, and we don't even know how much effort is being put in the dub to begin with. I'm just not a fan of hearing the same VA voice multiple characters, ESPECIALLY since they have annoying blurbs they we'll prob hear constantly when the units talk.
But I guess if Valkyria Chronicles did it well then there's nothing to really fear...
EDIT: Oh jklol, looks like the Japanese version did a little doubling up with voice actors too whooooooooops. _________________
