I've had two Friends with Benefits things going on since Freshman year and Junior year of college respectively.

The one has only worked because we rendezvous only once every month or so. We talk intermittently from time-to-time, but our relationship is purely carnal. The only interruptions we've had in this process is when one of us would gain a significant other, but sooner or later... it'll get back to our norm.

The other is a strange and arduous tale of a lesbian who is now not a lesbian. Charisma is my best stat.

ANYWAY THE POINT IS IS THAT FRIENDOS W/ MUTUAL BACKSCRATCHING (funny thing about our backs...) WORKS, YOU JUST NEED THE RIGHT COMBINATION OF MOXIE, LUCK, AND COLOGNE ("dolce and gabana: the one" is the absolute tits).

EDIT: totally forgot about that one girl last year. I saw this hot geeky girl in my jane eyre class and we became friendos with benefits. This would have been great, except she apparently had been hardcore Helga Pataki-level creeping/obsessing over me for the year prior to that. So she was "in love" with me after a few encounters. Imagine the look on my face after we had just gotten done tangling in the sheets and this girl who I met approximately a week prior says "I love you, Cameron."

I try to forget that happened, because the following few months were hella awkward

I'm too much of an old school romantic to make FWB works :S A part of me would like to enjoy commitement-less sex but that's not how my mother raised me.

Well

I ran away from my problems again.

Leaving friends behind has gotten to be a process I'm used to doing now. A very "numb" thing. Just... last night it was a lot harder since the people I left meant a lot to me over the past year.

Oh well.

I'm trying to pretend it was a good dream. I don't think I'll touch the topic of love ever again.

Lots of things happened. :( I underestimated how much I'd end up getting hurt. Last month was when I finally "broke" and I decided to just leave my group of friends for the sake of my mental health and because I figured me being gone wouldn't make much of a difference for them now that everyone else is happy.

I didn't delete it for your sake, I deleted it because it had no good reason to exist. Frankly, I don't know why I even bothered to type it.

@skythe: well that sure sucks Sad.

I dunno the specifics of your scenario, but I had a group of friends freshman year that were just absolutely awful. I was so starved for a group of friends that I stuck with them despite them being not-at-all good for my lifestyle. One girl strung me along and then ended up with the de facto "leader" of the group. The one guy was essentially a sadomasochist, so there issues with that. The one would smoke weed ALL THE TIME and it was just awkward.

good thing you got out of there now, if it was anything like mine

They were some of the best friends I've ever had in my entire life.
