Ninja Theory tried to lie and say a 9/10 review from Xbox Official Magazine was real and boast about it....then The magazine responsible for this review told them that what they were saying was incorrect, and that their real review, hadn't actually come into print yet...This is all AFTER they made a big deal to make people wary of "Fake reviews" that they tried to get rid of with Eurogamer that gave the game a 7.5/10

Because people don't like the way the reboot went. Non-canon or not, people want more of the original Dante and stuff.

I'd say, if Capcom, and Ninja Theory had said little to nothing, and not been so responsive to every bit of criticism that was given? The game would've met a little less controversy.
The only gripes I have with the game is it's writing, and non-satisfying combo system. Aside from that, I'm fine with the game itself. It's just how damn piss poor the companies behind making it have been to all the controversy it's been given.

It's hard to take Capcom seriously nowadays. Doesn't matter who developed the game - if Capcom is involved, expect rip-offs in the form of DLC.
DmC has successfully built up SOME hype from my experiences so far. I'll only consider it's purchase if the gameplay actually improves from what the demo gave us.
