i want them to have a trainer in the pokemon league from X and Y land, like what they did with that one guy from Hoenn that was in the Johto league tourny in the anime. it would be a cool way to introduce some pokemon from that land.

Nintendo's interactive thing sucked with the wiiu it's gonna suck here too or be local rather than wifi.
Anyways, PARTNER IN CRIME CLOUD AND I MATCHED UP EVERYWHERE EXCEPT THE STARTER so I am transferring to Chespin for our partnership.
I want Y he wants X, I want the boy he wants the girl, and while I like the fire type a lot I also like Chespin so HERE WE GOOOO.

there's definately going to be lots of wi fi features. actually i don't see what reason there is to doubt gamefreak at all with wifi given they put in a lot of fun features in HGSS and BW.
if anything they're better than nintendo given they gave us voice chat way before nintendo did their stupid wiispeak thing.

The graphics for Pokemon XY doesn't look good to me at all but it's a HUGE step.

An hour worth of restrictive dream world and constant d/cs with typical battle/co-op??

no.
voice chat, mini games, the entire battle frontier being available online, global trades, dream world, worldwide battles, etc.
also i never really had a problem with d/cing in HGSS and BW. Just in D/P/P.

I only had d/c with bw rather than hgss. I still found dreamworld dumb, no one likes global trading (troll center)

global trading actually has a lot of bros on it, like the magnemite thing they were doing in BW2
also even if the community were terrible i'm not really sure how that would be relevant to the amount of online features present in pokemon.

Speaking of those, I hope these animated promos become a trend and we get some anime love for X and Y (besides the TV anime and the inevitable "Ash releases most of his Pokémon and goes to a new region" theme they have going).

If it wasn't for Magnemite, GTS would remain completely useless. Though I hope this time they can update the interface and search functionality. I want a list of results, not just a handful of trainers. They need to optimize GTS like a proper MMO auction house. WTS: Fennekin (F)!

I never understood what was so exciting about a 10 minute animation that doesn't actually show anything about the game. It's like getting excited over a pre-rendered (or, god forbid, live action) trailer.

Honestly I wish they would do away with the 8 badges crap, or at least relegate it to a sidequest. But you know that wont happen. :/

It was cool, but it was just a short video that really didn't mean anything. Conn basically said it all.
This is an actual game that looks very good and shows a gigantic improvement in two important regards;3D models and much more exciting battle animations. We've wanted a game like this for a long time, and it's a huge step for the series.

My bigger point was that gamefreak has actually been putting much more effort into bringing Pokemon online than most of Nintendo with their franchises. As such, given that they seem to be putting a decent amount of focus on it, I wouldn't be surprised if we got some expansive and worthwhile features.

Nah, I like the Pokemon League. It's a good way to keep the player motivated and serves as a nice way to gauge progress. It's really simple, but I cringe at the thought of a purely Team Whatever story, given the series aims at young children...
I would definitely like to see its role deemphasised and more focus placed on exploration, but the League should definitely stay as a big part.
