Fick:
This makes twice that a particular friend still in high school (year below me) hasn't answered my text.
First time, I figured she was just overwhelmed or something. But she didn't respond to my text this time either, and I saw her in the Facebook chat side bar, marked as on mobile. So she ignored it again.
I'm really beginning to wonder what's going on here. This particular friend and I were quite close, and the last time I talked to her, things were fine, so I can't imagine why she would just suddenly just stop talking to me.
Advice, Tales Forum?

Sometimes, they just need to move on. I've had a few friends like this, and one that I really like (loved), but they (girls) cut off contact all of a sudden. I mean, things were nice between us, and then I graduated from high school (they were 1 year younger). I tried my best to keep contact, visiting them, but it did not work out. I was wondering what happened, but reality is, probably nothing happened.
I understand it a bit better now. There's also a few friends who also tried to keep contact with me, but I really didn't feel like talking to them or keeping contact with them (they were my best friends). It's just life. We move on, and sometimes we put other people aside. Whatever in common we had were lost once we took different ways in University (me anyway, don't know about them).
I suspect your friend may be in the same situation. Maybe if you can somehow show that you can still bring something to her life, she would keep some contact with you.

i've known a few girls in the past who distance themselves from opposite gender friends when they get a boyfriend, maybe he's easily jealous or she doesn't want him to get suspicious
it's dumb i know but i've seen it happen

That's possible, I suppose. I have definitely experienced that already with people I was never as good friends with. But I have talked to this girl since coming to college and we seemed fine. When she stopped responding it was rather abrupt rather than gradual, which is what I'd expect if it really was just is drifting apart.
Thanks, Conn. I was considering that, but your suggestion pretty much confirmed what I had been thinking. I do think I might wait until finals are over though. I get distracted while studying as it is; the last thing I need is emotional baggage on my mind while I try to study.

imo you shouldn't read too into it until you get a direct answer! From experience, you're never as annoying as you think you are. The other person usually has a good or at least understandable reason.
But it's all speculation on my part. You won't know until you ask!

Facebook has a neat feature that lets you know if you're being ignored.
When someone sees a post or a message, it will get marked as 'seen' or something like that.  |

I find it quite useful for some of my friends who see it, consider it, will have a response (ie yes I am going to your party) and just never say anything until you bring it up irl -.- I just call those friends now they are just not good at taking FB and text messages seriously xD At least when I know they've seen it, I don't have to worry about them not knowing, especially if I'm informing them of something, that doesn't always need a reply, so I don't need to worry that they don't know.
Pos: I got my christmas present (A Vita + AC3: Liberation bundle) early~
Neg: I have two more exams, I gotta wait to open it until Wednesday xD
Neg: My nerves will be terrible starting tomorrow, my last exam on Wednesday is Calc, the last one I have to take ever, and I want an okay final mark that isn't completely terrible, and I suck at it, so I'll be doing lots of practice but I've been having trouble sleeping from this week already fffft
Pos: the exam tomorrow shouldn't be too bad, but its really a mixed bag, it could turn out to be anything, but I feel like I've had enough time to be well prepared.

Neg: It really sucks to see a game series you grew up with like Suikoden or Breath of Fire just die off. It's even worse to see things being milked to death with bad spinoffs and etc. I gave up on the Final Fantasy series right after 12. 12 wasn't bad per say but to me it was just boring. FF is just a joke these days and it's a shame that's prolly never going to be what it was again. But when you have major name companies churning out garbage for major name rpgs, it really ruins the market for other rpgs. All good things come to an end but still it sucks to experience something like this even with that knowledge. At least there is still Tales and Dragon Quest...

I felt the SAME about 12!! I could not stand it, but 13 really rejuvenated the series for me, the characters and story were just awesome, it had its flaws but I didn't expect much after 12, and then 13-2 was just freaking amazing imo. If you wanna talk about FF pm me~ Its my third-favourite series now, since 13 was like WOAH YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO CHARACTERS AND STORY PROPERLY. I had also felt it was going into a nosedive.
