This autumn, I watched a movie called "Serenity" on TV. My reaction was "Man, they should have done a series with that!" (I did not know at the time). 3 months ago, I remember one of my friend telling to me watch "Firefly". So I got the episodes and started watching. At first I was " Hmm I feel like I've seen this before..." until I released it is the series from the "Serenity" movie!
Anyway, this show is damn awesome. They should not have canceled it...And anyone knows why the episodes were broadcasted out of order?

No, scratch that. how do you watch Serenity and take two years figuring out what Firefly is?

Yeah, uh, this. Even though Serenity is incredibly newbie-friendly, it's still pretty obvious there was stuff before it.
Still, even if you're late, good on you for watching Firefly! It's such a fantastic show. If you find yourself clamouring for more (and really, why wouldn't you), I suggest reading the comics.

I didn't say 2 years...I caught the movie on TV 2 months ago and never bothered to check. Also, I watched in French, and "Firefly" was translated.

Yeah, I'm not sure why I said years.
Still. It's kind of hard to go several months after watching Serenity and not notice Firefly exists.

Oh my God I loved this series back then. Didn't know there was a movie, or a comic for that matter. I must get them!

When I saw previews for Serenity I thought it looked really cool (which it was). That's around the time I realized it was based on a show. I've yet to see it, though. I should get around to that. The movie was great and I've heard nothing but good things about Firefly.

If you can, read Those Left Behind before watching the movie. It wraps up some loose ends from the show and sets the stage for the movie.

Fox aired the episodes out-of-order for whatever reason, so it never took off, even though the average was around 5 million viewers per episode (which is more than Stargate ever had...)
