ToGf is not really a sequel, it's a port with an added storyline after the original's ending.
And Symphonia hasn't got any remake yet. _________________

In that case, ToGF would probably be a spin-off, and thus in the escort titles.
Symphonia got a remake that was only released in Japan for the PS2. _________________

I hate this way of thinking. It 100% took place after Symphonia. It 100% took place in Aselia. It was 100% a sequel. It was 100% appalling.
Whether it's 100% considered a real Tales game or not is 100% irrelevant to it being a Symphonia sequel. |

I know it took place after Symphonia, but I recall it not having been made by the same people. It's a sequel, but it's a spin-off sequel. They used the material that had in Symphonia 1 to make a new storyline. An actual sequel would have that and a lot more in it.
Of course, unless it's a discussion about Legendia, I probably won't bother getting into a heated discussion about it. What's done is done, and KoR exists. Nothing we can do about that now. _________________

Yes, but it's still a remake. It was the original with edits done to it. That is a remake. _________________

They ported Symphonia to the PS2, then just added stuff to it. It's still a port. Vesperia PS3? It's a port. ToGF? It's a port. Destiny R? Remake. Pokemon FRLG? Remake. Abyss 3DS? Port. Sonic Adventure DX? Port. Sonic Adventure DX on PSN and XBL? Also port.

So when exactly did I start asking about Sonic and Pokemon? O.o I know I never did that on a Tales Forum. And I'm terribly sorry that I have more of a life than learning all the terms to video games. That and I didn't say Symphonia got a remake to get into an argument. Symphonia being ported to another system is still the same thing as adding to the amount that Aselia has. Aselia's going to get old if it keeps up.
That would've been funny if I were a man, but I'm not. Sucks to you.
Also, if I'd joined this site to argue, you'd well know it by now. _________________

You don't need to want to argue in order to invoke an argument, silly.

You tried to cover up your mistake after I corrected the exact same thing, which makes you a hypocrite and now you just look silly. Using a personal attack to try and wave the topic away from your blunder is petty and doesn't work, never mind saying something like "sorry but I have a life lol". Oh boo you said I have no life you're going to make me cry! _________________

Sorta unrelated, I actually call girls "man" all the time. Sometimes even dude. It's great slang, but most of my friends are female so it'd be a shame not to be able to use it.
One thing you need to know about the Tales Forum is that people always argue about stuff. That's what happens when discussions are held for too long.
I agree when you say that the Aselia universe needs to be left alone, but really, that won't stop other people from saying "BUT I WANT TO PLAY AS YUAN AND MITHOS!" _________________ "TEACH ME ABOUT BAZONGAS!!!"

What, I can't want to play as Yuan and Mithos? ;_;
I couldn't care less about the Aselia universe and whether it needs to disappear or not (though I wish Phantasia would stop coming back every few year, because I have no interest in it. Symphonia, however...)
Plus I just want to know what Miyajima had in mind, tbh. I feel ToS's history was a bit underdevelopped in the game, and even outside, though we got a bit more. I seriously hope he's gonna add something new in that Kratos novel (though I kinda wish he'd focus on his time with Anna...) _________________

Novels are fine. I like novels. Not much they can mess up in those and it focuses more on character development/history than slipshod plots that end up filled with holes.
Also, it's fine wanting to play as Yuan and Mithos. It's just a very lame reason for wanting a sequel, in my opinion. Sadly, it's also the reason that's used the most. I mean, aren't there hundreds of NPCs in the Tales universe that would be cool to play as? Emeraude? Cecille and Frings? The Dark Wings? Do I ask for a Vesperia prequel because I want to play as Alexei, Damuron, Yeager and that woman whose name I forgot? Nope. _________________ "TEACH ME ABOUT BAZONGAS!!!"

My exact words were not that you had no life, sweets.
Also, I didn't try to "cover up" a "mistake". You don't have to know video game terms to know the word "remake". Once you've gotten through highschool or at are least in that part of school, I would certainly HOPE you knew that the word remake was not always related to video games. And so you're aware, all you're doing is adding to my post count.
Meowzy: I know, and that's the problem. However, I've debated with people before and not gotten into arguments. People that start an argument over someone's opinion or statement, even if the statement is false or the opinion has no backup, is just immature to being with.
I'm aware of that. But even if people say that, it doesn't mean Namco is going to make the prequel those people want. There's no guarantee that they will or won't, but in the end, it's entirely up to Namco's decision. However, if they keep the storyline for Aselia going, they're losing opportunities to create new stories and new worlds. Sure, they can just make a new story the next year, but why linger on an already created world for that long when you can just keep up with making new characters, plots, worlds, etc.?
The problem with making so many games over Aselia is that people will keep comparing these games to each other. "This one was better because it had this and that" will start coming up, like what happened already with KoR. This is why I also don't want Legendia or Abyss getting prequels or sequels. Having Manga and Anime to the game is fine, because that's supposed to be based exactly by what exists already, without adding anything major to it. Having a whole new game about the same world is just adding more and more to it. Right now, with Aselia, we already had more than one timeline with ToP alone. We know what happened before Cress' timeline, and before that timeline is Symphonia's, which before Symphonia's timeline is Aselia's Kharlan War, and after Symphonia's before Phantasia's is KoR. They've just made too many timelines with Aselia already. Even if they made a game about Aselia before Symphonia happened, all they'd be doing is letting you play characters you couldn't before. The locations would be similar if not the same, and this is shown during ToF: Vol. 2. We also already know pretty much everything that happened during Mithos' timeline, and ToF: Vol. 2 has more insight into this. ToF is only in Japan as far as I know, but it allow players to see what happened during the War, and the characters in that storyline are the ones people want to see so badly in the prequel. They shouldn't have to make a prequel when they already have something similar to it in ToF.
YumeHanabi: Phantasia is related to Symphonia, so even if Phantasia keeps coming back, that only adds to Aselia. ToP: ND is also in Aselia, isn't it? Therefore, they keep adding timelines to Aselia. They haven't let it go yet. _________________

ToF2... didn't have much, though.
It just explained partially how Kratos joined the Yggdrasill (but we don't even know what exactly happened) and show them trying to help a village, introducing a few interesting concepts at the same time. I know that's already something, but it's little compared to Yulia's revealed backstory, ToG's last boss's past or what really happened with Creed and Richea. The "history" is part of what I like best in Tales, and I found it a bit lacking in Symphonia. I'm content with what we've got, but I do hope we can get more, and I don't care about the format. Just get Sara to write two books or something, that'd be more than satisfying. _________________

They mentioned how they joined together, but we didn't actually SEE the events.
I'd say ToF gave us a good backstory, especially since people get the option to choose what characters say and do, like what's already done for ToS. If they choose to make another game for Symphonia, though, I won't mind, but I just think they need to start straying from Aselia a bit. Not saying it can't ever come back, but they've been focusing too much on it.
ToF has the option of choosing who goes with Kratos at some point in the story, and that actually gives you some back history too, depending on who you choose. They actually did a lot with the small side story they gave us. This is why I like Tales so much - we get what we pay for. They can give us a lot in a short time, whether it's storyline, characters, or anything else. _________________
