THE RP IS GO, PEOPLE!

As is suggested in the first post, Orion is going to be recruiting people to do a little recon on the potential strife. If anyone wants their characters to be in Orion's group, give me a shout either in here or by PM. They'll either already be under Orion's command to begin with, be a contact he can reach easily, or he'll recruit them as he goes.

New character derp

Name: Ashton Ostagar
Gender: Male
Occupation: Professor at the Komo Mai School Of Magic
Age: 40
Height: 6'3"
Appearance: Ashton is a large man, and was once a very imposing figure. After quitting the military, however, he is much more calm and he's lost a sizeable amount of his muscle mass. He sports a lean build, wearing a simple brown sweater with beige cloth slacks and brown dress shoes. Although he's reached his 40's he still has a youthful yet masculine face, with bright blue eyes and short, disheveled blonde hair, and a very light amount of stubble on his chiseled jaw. His vision has worsened with age as well, requiring him to wear glasses.
Wing appearance: Ashton's wings are bright red, with orange hues, and are large in span, giving them an appearance comparable to flames.
Personality: Ashton is a very down-to-earth person. His transition from knight to professor has softened his demeanor, although he is still very serious and stern. He has a strong sense of honor and justice and will never abandon a person in need, nor will he show mercy to those who do wrong.
History: Ashton was born in Diadem to a poor family, the youngest of 7 siblings. He always wanted to help his parents make a living, so he joined the army when he turned 17. He rose through the ranks quickly, achieving the rank of Knight Lord by the age of 24.

One year later, the Battle of the Cloud Passage occured. The Alfardian Empire swiftly invaded Diadem, easily capturing the fishing village of Nashira and pushing their way to the Cloud Passage. It was during this battle that Ashton met Orion Lainsworth, and the two fought alongside each other. Orion's tactics and battle prowess and Ashton's excellent swordsmanship worked hand in hand, and the army managed to fend off the Alfardians. It was the blow which started the process of Diadem's victory, and Ashton and Orion's units pushed forward. They eradicated the remainder of the Alfardian army, pushing them back to their own country. this resulted in Alfard's surrender and a mutual agreement being reached between the two nations. Ashton and Orion were heralded as a hero amongst the population of Diadem. Orion rose through the ranks more quickly than Ashton, however, but the two were very successful and their time as allies during the battle had developed a brothers-in-arms relationship amongst them.

6 years later, Ashton was severely injured by an old rival, and Ashton left the military. He retreated to Anuenue to recover, but his sword arm was injured to the point where it never fully recovered. Unable to continue fighting with a sword, Ashton instead began to practice magic. He learned quickly, mastering the art by the age of 34. It was then that he became a professor at the School Of Magic, where he has lived in peace...until now.
Battle style, abilities, and weapons: Unable to fight with a sword like he used to, Ashton now fights solely with magic, avoiding physical combat. He still carries a small shield with him to use for defense, however.

Once SK checks it, I'll post shortly. =D It'll help move the plot forward. All we really need to do is finish recruiting, and tomorrow (in the bk universe) the fun stuff begins.

We're also setting a few other subplots up to keep people occupied. Once they're ironed out we'll introduce them. >.>b

Right, apologies for the long wait in response. First, I'm going to shift everyone to Orion's office in one brief post, and then I plan to make a collaborative post with all four of us working on it, using some real-time collaboration browser services. The rest of us in the RP have done this many times in the past, so we just need to show you the ropes if you haven't done anything like Etherpad, Google Wave or Google Docs before, Psychon. Is that okay with you?
