For some reason, whenever I battle in the coliseum with someone OTHER than Jade, after I'm done with all the battles, JADE DISAPPEARS!!! I bought a used copy of Tales of the Abyss AND a used PS2... so I think that has something to do with it...

Sounds weird >.> I don't know if your gamedisc and Ps2 being a bit old has anything to do with it, though. I had problems with Asch appearing in the coliseum (making Anise disappear). I was screwing around with my save file, though (converting it from japanese to english. So that was probably the reason XD
I have no idea what's making Jade disappear for you, though.

| Did you try to sleep in an inn when Jade was gone? Maybe you can trigger an event and then look if he returns. |

I can help with this. It's normal for him to leave the party on the first visit to Grand Chokmah. After a few story scenes there you'll be prompted to find all of your party members. You can find him at the bar.
Can't help with the other problem, though.

well... on my first playthrough, it worked out just fine (during that part) but in my current playthrough, I looked in the bar, and he wasn't there...(bummer...)

You looked upstairs? Not in the area with the giant table with cushions and a bunch of people sitting on it, but on the other side? |

Sounds like your game is glitched to have Jade disappear for all eternity or something... Try starting a new game, or if you still have your GRADE save, make something new from that. |

I forgot one thing! you know in that part, you have to find
Jade and Natalia, then you talk to Frings to get into the castle. (or at least I THINK that was Frings... IDK...) anyway, I only got Natalia, and I got into the castle no problem.

well he appears again sometimes in the Meggiora Highlands...
