I actually like that the way it all plays out with Senel's relationships is exactly the same no matter what choices the players make. This way there is only one canon, and while each individual can choose which Senel pairing they support, what happens in the game is not debatable. I don't like how every LloydxFemaleInYourParty pairing in ToS is technically canon, because it leads to disagreement. I like how in ToL, facts are facts.

the problem with ToS isnt so much that the actual cannon becomes debatable as the game dosent change that much depending on who you chose. It was all the same game with slightly different stock answers and comments and a different 3d model showing up for that 3 second scene at teh end.

ughhh..shriley... Totally Senel x Chloe.....Shirley is so damn annoying and i was happy when Senel rejectd her in the middle of the main story.....but then the whole marriage thing happens at the end. =[

When I look at Senel, Chloe, and Shirley in the pairing perspective, it seems more like those animes where you know there is someone better for the guy, but they go with the girl that doesn't know him too well, it'd be too awkward with the two paired, or both (Bleach with IchigoxRukia and IchigoxOrihime anyone?). Senel and Shirley are "paired" together, but the couple is more brother and sister than actual lovers so it seems more awkward in the end. Imo, Chloe would obviously have been a much better choice for him because she knows him better and seems more like a lover than a sister. Shirley seems more like a sister rather than a lover.
I mean, think of the title Senel got at the start of CQs. "Still a Brother"...or something like that. A title like that tells me that no bases will be made anytime soon. :P
Note- Don't get me wrong, I'm not really an anime lover nor do I watch Bleach anymore. Too many fillers and episodes for me. I stick to a few mangas now. :P

| I rather like SenelxStella but Senel turns into a major piece of work whenever he clings to that relationship during the game. I'll go with SenelxShirley since it makes the most sense plot-wise. I found it refreshing that Chloe was able to accept her relationship with Senel as platonic and make friends with Shirley instead of a whining about the inhumanity like so many other characters would. |

And yet Shirley nearly killed off humanity because Senel said "Lol No!". At that point the relationship was completely iced for me, nevermind that it had been build upon as purely platonic from Senel's POV, so I prefer him with either Stella or Chloe.

Makes sense. Although, I never really understood why everyone seems to think Shirley's immediate response to Senel's rejection was "How dare he reject me?! Guess I'll have to go and wipe out humanity now", instead of what really happened which is she went crying to Fenimore. Yeah, Shirley is weak and dependent but it seems like fans make her into an inhuman monster. For me it seemed obvious that, while Senel's rejection left her feeling betrayed and therefore helped the process, it was ultimately Fenimore's death that turned Shirley into the Merines.
But I don't really feel like debating something that has been talked to death already. I mean I understand why Shirley and SenelxShirley isn't popular at all. In terms of the first part of the game's story it ust seemed to make the most sense to me. xD |

I dislike Senel with anyone, to be honest. If I had to choose, though, I guess I'd go with Chloe, although there is a rather important reason as to why I'm not keen on that pairing, either. :/
Lycoris is right, however. It was Fenimore's death that pushed Shirley to do what she did. It had nothing to do with Senel's rejection.

Senel x Shirley probably makes the least sense plot-wise, since the game makes it abundantly clear that Senel views her as a sister (and not as a potential-romantic-interest), and actually rejects her.

You both forget that the very reason Shirley decided to become Nerifes' vessel in the first place was because Senel rejected her. Also note that in the past she intentionally failed so she didn't have to kill Senel (along with the rest of humanity, but I guess Senel is the only important one).
