Second time's the charm, I suppose. If you're new to the RP then here's all you need to know. Nothing much has changed so if you joined before then read it if you need a refresher!

[--Story--]

Records tell of a past calamity that befell the world known only as the Nightfall.

Spanning three days time, the moon completely eclipsed the sun, blocking it from the world below that took it for granted. Needless to say, chaos ensued.

People hadn’t realized just how precious sunlight was for their everyday survival. Without sunlight, the land began to frost over, plants atrophied from an inability to undergo photosynthesis and the world was blanketed in darkness. That is, temporarily.

The day the sun came up was the day everyone saw the scars left behind on their world. Sections of continents had fallen into the sea and the environment was virtually nonexistent. Man had to start over with the meager population that had survived. However, there was one positive aspect.

Man found he possessed powers: powers that rivaled those of a god and on certain nights, it was found that some powers were strengthened. Because of this, the powers were thought to have been blessings from the stars and were labeled “Starsigns”.

It was only hundreds of years later that the origin of the power was revealed.

It appeared that during the Nightfall, the sky had changed, nobody knows how, but a change happened for certain. Stars began to emit a light radiation, one the mutated the world and people through an infusion of its power which scientists called “meta”. However, due to a built resistance from ancestors before, the population today had obtained no side effects from the meta like those before them.

The world on the other hand…

The world had found that meta acts as a subtle replacement for the natural resources used before like oil and electricity. The world relies on meta for power now that natural energy sources are steadily depleting since most of the land was destroyed years ago. Unfortunately, this resource appears to be losing its effectiveness as well.

No one can say why but it is whispered that on nights when a meteor shower occurs, some cities lose power temporarily.

A secret group is being formed to investigate exactly why this phenomenon happens. They are called Starcatchers: those that catch the stars that fall to earth…

[--Rules--]

-While it may not seem obvious at first, this RP will have a slightly (I repeat, slightly) mature feel to it. I’m not going to say “you must be this old to post” but please just know what you’re getting into.

-Obligatory no god-moding rule. This means that your character will get hurt, no they will not have one-hit-kills unless the enemy totally bites, and healing can only get you so far.

-No character controlling. I realize that some things need to be done like having a character follow yours or nod or something but do not control what other characters say or think without permission first.

-No plot destroying. Please don’t completely obliterate the plot by having a city blow up or something like that.

-Two paragraph post at the minimum please. Also do that heading thing where you state your character’s name and location and all that jazzy jazz.

-Don’t be an ass. While I’m fine with mild cursing, having your characters drop F-bombs every five seconds is where I draw the line, especially if it’s an attempt to troll.

[--Starsigns--]

In the modern world, the system of Starsigns is used more like a label. An individual’s Starsign is determined by the type of stars and formation the night the individual is born. While it doesn’t give the user any special powers (maybe…), it does have an effect on the individual’s personality and inclinations toward hobbies or occupations. In short, it’s an intrinsic part of that person’s being and should be treated as such. There are twelve known Starsigns in all.

Fire: Associated with aggression and willpower. Key phrase is “I am.”
Earth: Associated with practicality and stubbornness. Key phrase is “I have.”
Wind: Associated with curiosity and liveliness. Key phrase is “I think.”
Water: Associated with sensitivity and nourishment. Key phrase is “I feel.”
Light: Associated with confidence and honor. Key phrase is “I will.”
Thunder: Associated with objectivity and perfection. Key phrase is “I analyze.”
Wood: Associated with harmony and justice. Key phrase is “I balance.”
Darkness: Associated with control and secrets. Key phrase is “I desire.”
Space: Associated with experience and generosity. Key phrase is “I see.”
Time: Associated with austerity and tradition. Key phrase is “I use.”
Metal: Associated with eccentricities and individuality. Key phrase is “I know.”
Ice: Associated with dreaminess and transcendence. Key phrase is “I believe.”

[--Magic--]

Magic is an ability that a person is either born with or not that allows them to recite verses to manipulate meta. This means that only people with a high sensitivity to it can conduct magic. Magic is only in the form of the element of the magician’s Starsign(Ex. Fire Starsign can shoot fireballs) but this doesn’t mean that it’s only limited to attack or support spells.

Magic also correlates with willpower so if your character is an accomplished swordsman that concentrates more on his skill with a blade than with his magic then he will not be a master at both. He can however dabble slightly in magic and be able to perform a few spells. This can also work reversely as in someone who excels in spells will most likely not be a physical tank.

[--Technology--]

Technology on Arlawin resembles modern society today as in cell phones, MP3’s and cars are part of the norm. This means that it isn’t totally futuristic, unless dealing with the subject of guns which can be slightly futuristic (Ex. Ray guns, lasers etc. etc.). Medieval weapons do exist, like swords and axes, but have a slightly futuristic look to them like the blade will be made of plasma and the hilt out of interlocked machine parts or something more correct. An example of this would be a beam sword so you get the picture.

All machines are called apparatik and run on meta. How they do this is through crystals they infuse with the power of meta, like leaving them out in the starlight, then inserting them into the apparatik like batteries. Please know that all apparatik on Arlawin does this so if there is a big machine there better be a big crystal that can be put in there somewhere as an energy source. Also if a meta crystal isn’t charged and runs out of power then it will never work again.

[--Religion and Government--]

In Arlawin there is no organized government but politically, the continent is divided into six sectors. Each sector has a capital which is (coincidentally?) one of the major cities listed and each sector is self-governed meaning laws made for that sector only apply to that sector.

Little cities may appear in a sector around a capital but by no means will they be as large. Really, they will be very tiny in comparison.

The sectors all have an anti-war treaty which states that any act of hostility will not be tolerated and will be met with the combined forces of the other five sectors against the aggressor. While it does prevent the creation of armed forces, it does provide a safe and peaceful atmosphere for the citizens of the continent.

Religion on Arlawin is called Astrollism and is remarkably similar to the science of astrology today. A talist of Astrollism is the equivalent of a priest of Christianity while the Holy Divum is equivalent to being the pope of Astrollism.

Astrollism is a religion based on Starsigns or as referred to in holy text, “the blessings.” It is believed if you follow the path your Starsign sets for you, eternal happiness will reach you. This means that choices like line of work or potential spouses have been destined since birth by belief of Astrollism. This religion is also polytheistic and has twelve gods that have periods of worship depending on the year and the star alignment.

The twelve gods are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

Some people follow this religion due to the structure and order in provides in life. However, a good majority don’t due to the restrictive nature it places on its believers.

[--World--]

Due to the Nightfall from long ago, the world is known only as “The World” due to there being fear that another destructive event will happen. In the World there are only three continents, one of which is inhabited by people. This continent is called Arlawin and has six main capital cities of interest.

City of Commerce, Satellite City- Located right in the middle of the continent, Satellite City is the main center of trade where people can conduct business with the numerous stores and market located here. Due to this, Satellite City has the largest population out of all the cities on the Arlawin continent and is also the most diverse. Capital of Sector One.

City of Faith, Yorza- Located to the north of Satellite City, Yorza is where the sovereign of the religion, Astrollism,that dominates Arlawin is located and is also the most cultured out of the captials. Notes of interest in this city would be the giant cathedral and also the observatory. Residents of the city are all involved with the church in some way and follow Astrollism very seriously. Capital of Sector Two.

City of Lights, Stralle Heights- Located to the northwest of Satellite City, Stralle Heights can be considered to be one big resort city. Basically a giant amusement park, there are many rides and games for the residents’ enjoyment and a giant beach that serves as an attraction to those that enjoy the water. Capital of Sector Three.

City of Sport, Val Lumbre- Located to the southeast of Satellite City, Val Lumbre hosts many tournaments of skill and power in the coliseum where fighters from all across the continent come to compete for the title of Head of the Coliseum. Val Lumbre is also known for its training dojos and other athletic centers that attract anyone interested in physical activity. Capital of Sector Four.

City of Machines, Milix Headquarters- Located to the northeast of Satellite City, Milix Headquarters is base for Milix Companies, the sole provider of technology throughout the continent of Arlawin. The city itself is representative of this, being highly more advanced than the other cities and most of its residents are employees of Milix. Capital of Sector Five.

City of Sin, Nirvana- Located to the southwest of Satellite City, Nirvana used to have a legitimate name but today, people just call it “Nirvana” due to its ability to give anyone “paradise on earth.” There are a lot of back alley deals and illegal activity in this city and it doesn’t help that strip clubs, bars and casinos populate the streets either. Capital of Sector Six.

Please note that the environment of the world is not filled with grass and trees one would usually see in a fantasy but more like crags and canyons with roads for traveling on by some form of vehicle. Plants exist but are sparsely spread throughout the continent in small patches, making the outward world similar to a wasteland.

[--Characters Notes--]

If you haven’t realized it by now, yes, your character will have some crazy power depending on the Starsign they have. This is why they are becoming part of the Starcatchers (see how I worked the title into there?). However, no one at first will be a member so that means that your character will know they can do things others can’t (or they might be oblivious) but they won’t have really specific knowledge of their power but vague descriptions such as being able to run fast when its really that the leg muscles are able to relax more easily and allow you to exert more effort into the movement of running.

Please be smart about your character’s power. Don’t say they can like…stop time or something if they’re an earth starsign.

Reynaldo Fuisarte
Age: 50
Napoleon’s father and the owner of a small antique store named Starcatchers Commodities. He’s generally warm and hospitable but can bumble and forget important facts. He also has a natural talent for judging a person’s character and potential.

Starsign Skill: Aura. Reynaldo can sense and see the individual life forces given off by objects and people. He usually uses this to “feel” for people in an area like a sensor. The range is limited to his current strength and circumstances.

Rion Bronson
Age: 31
The chief of police for Nirvana’s less than skilled police force. He’s a man of few words with a stoic demeanor but is dependable nonetheless. Unfortunately, his passive attitude leads to him being easily taken advantage of, especially by his fiancee.

Starsign Skill: Dream Hold. Bronson can simulate the dark conditions needed to hasten serotonin production in a human body with one touch, effectively putting the target to sleep. This power is much more effective when he’s physically touching the person. He can use it from far away but the process is much longer and the individual must be standing still.

Dierick Tempan
Age: 53
The mayor of Satellite City and the leader of the covert operations unit, Starcatchers. Austere and professional, he doesn’t enjoy any fooling around. He’s a solid leader though and holds a natural authoritative air about him.

Starsign Skill: Time Sweep. Dierick can turn back time to a certain point in the past, effectively sweeping away any traces of the future that could’ve been. While individuals lose all memories when a time sweep occurs, Dierick can restore them by speaking a certain “code phrase” of his own choosing.

Missy Ghiaccio
Age: 28
The donna of the Ghiaccio family-a “friendly neighborhood” mafia (in)famous around Nirvana. She’s outspoken, sadistic and not one to hold back abusive language toward those she feels deserves it. However, she’s a philanthropist at heart.

Starsign Skill: Cryogenic Body. Missy can freeze virtually anything with just one touch. However, if the object’s freezing point is higher than her's, she has to take on the additional temperature onto her body, subjecting herself to potential heat exhaustion.

Name: Roscoe
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Height: 5’11
Starsign: Earth
Weapon: Meteor Hammer

Appearance: Roscoe has dark brown hair that is not fixed in a specific way but rather is left naturally messy and untamed. This adds a somewhat feral edge to his features, accentuating his right tawny colored eye, the other covered in a black eyepatch. His body is well-toned, slightly tanned with just enough muscle for people to see that he keeps himself in shape. The outfits Roscoe chooses to wear are simplistic and formal in nature: no outlandish, over the top articles of clothing at all. Usually just a clean dress-shirt covered by a neat fitting vest, sometimes a blazer if the weather permits, along with a pair of jeans or slacks. He chooses not to wear any accessories but in the chance he does, it will either be a tie or a scarf, maybe even a pair of gloves.

Personality: Roscoe is a quiet man who, at times, may appear to be overly shy. He doesn’t speak much and when he does, it’s in a soft-spoken, unassuming voice that’s accompanied by a very distant demeanor. He doesn’t do this for the sake of being secluded but because of his insecurity toward others. His past makes him feel vulnerable and inept in social situations so rather than put himself in such a position, Roscoe opts himself out of them. Unfortunately, because he avoids social interaction, he is terrible at being witty or funny and most directed attempts at humor by others are met with a blank stare.

With any problem, Roscoe does his best to see it attended to at once and without any complications. He’s a hard worker but he’s also very stubborn. Anything he sees as superfluous or a waste of energy will be disregarded and it’s hard to persuade him otherwise once he’s decided so. He’s straightforward to a strict degree but this only comes from his natural level head and tendency to think things through.

History: Two years ago was when Roscoe was born. Being found in an alley, he was brought into a hospital in an extremely battered state and with a loss of sight in his left eye. That wasn’t the worst of it though because Roscoe found he had amnesia, a loss of all his memories. Even using DNA samples to track down his identity didn’t work for all of his records turned up blank like he had never existed. In short, Roscoe was a “John Doe” and was soon moved to a psychiatric hospital where it was hoped that extensive therapy would help him regain his memories.

For a while, it seemed like he would. During one of his daily therapy sessions, Roscoe suddenly blacked out. During this time, he saw two visions. One was of a blindingly bright unrecognizable room and the other was the word “Roscoe.” As soon as he had awoken, he told the doctors everything, wondering if those were two memories from his past. The next day, Roscoe was discharged from the hospital at his insistence, taking with him the name he had saw in his dreams and the determination to find out exactly what those visions meant. While still unsure about his psychological condition, his doctors knew he was more than physically healthy and allowed him to leave.

However, the hospital made sure that Roscoe wasn’t left on his own. They bought him an apartment in the capital they were located in, Satellite City, and also found a job for him. This job was at an antique shop called Starcatcher Commodities, one that was run by a man named Reynaldo Fuisarte. While at first wary around him, Roscoe was met oppositely. Reynaldo was very warm and kind, taking time to explain things to Roscoe so he would be able to better adapt to the world again. It took time but soon Roscoe started to ease up around him until finally finding himself to be completely comfortable in the shop.

Through their time together, Roscoe learned much about Reynaldo. For one thing, he had a son, a man that lived in Yorza as a novel author. He also learned that Reynaldo had an uncanny ability to judge a person’s character simply by looking at them, which was, as Reynaldo put it, the reason he was much more enthusiastic about letting Roscoe work at the shop. Presently, it has been a year and a half since Roscoe first started working at Starcatcher Commodities and in this time the bond between Reynaldo and him has grown from strangers to that of one a nephew and uncle would possess. Roscoe is content with his work but has yet to make progress in the real reason he left the hospital about a year ago: to find the source of those strange visions he saw in his dreams. Unwaveringly, he continues this quest a step at a time, wishing secretly for any type of clue that will point to his memories.

Starsign Skill: Seismic Focus. Roscoe’s body is able to amass and release seismic energy to imitate the vibrations created by earthquakes. He’s able to gather the energy through the ground and simultaneously replenish it as well. He can then concentrate this power to specific body parts (i.e. hands and feet) then release it onto another object. The magnitude of the seismic energy he releases is random until he learns greater control over it but built-up stress and tension can cause him to produce higher magnitudes at greater frequencies.

Magic/Combat Style: For reasons he’s unaware of, Roscoe is talented at utilizing a meteor hammer. As such, he uses technique and strategy when fighting rather than pure aggression. He usually waits for openings before striking out or creates them himself by shaking the ground to disorient enemies. His starsign skill can also be used to create violent earthquakes that can be attacks by themselves or by transferring the seismic energy into the meteor of his meteor hammer and hitting the enemy for an even deadlier strike.

Name: Layla Conover
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5’4
Starsign: Thunder
Weapon: Gloves

Appearance: Layla has lilac colored hair that is cut short yet still long enough to be tied up into a small ponytail or bun. It has a startling resemblance to the color of her eyes which are a dark rosy pink. Due to her job, Layla has a very slender physique with not much excess body fat, however; she doesn’t have much muscle and while she does look healthy, she isn’t very tan. She keeps up with the trends like most girls her age and always dresses in a very contemporary style. Trendy, fun accessories like hair clips and pins are always seen on her person. To this effect, it can be said her clothing choice is somewhat childish. She claims it’s for deceiving purposes only but deep down, she secretly enjoys wearing such clothes.

Personality: Layla is always seen with a smile on her face; pair this up with her seemingly bubbly, sweet manner and the result is an underestimated young girl. However, Layla isn’t one to be trifled with, especially since she smiles for all the wrong reasons. This “innocent” girl, in reality, harbors the mind of a master con-artist. She’s sneaky and selfish, not above using people to get what she wants before throwing them away once they’ve outlived their purpose. Her view toward others comes from her inability to trust them so she’s generally disagreeable and abrasive. The only person she cares about is herself and, to her, that’s perfectly acceptable.

Layla is a quick thinker and highly intelligent, able to come up with schemes and plans of action on the fly. It’s when things go awry or mistakes are made that she becomes irritable. She’s a perfectionist and is easily discouraged when things don’t go as she would want them to. This is only a taste of the extreme moody, sour state she can fall into, one that doesn’t last long but is highly counteractive.

History: Layla was born to one of the better-off families in Nirvana, one who attempted to live above the corruption. Her father was a school teacher while her mother was a police officer, both of who avidly wanted their daughter to live in a healthier environment but didn’t possess the money to move to a different location. With present circumstances they tried to do the very best. Unfortunately, not everyone is strong enough to resist the temptation of sin.

Layla was only twelve years old when her father cheated on her mother with another woman, one he picked up at a seedy strip club for the right price. Her mother, still thinking of Layla, was willing to forgive him if only because without his income, she wouldn’t be able to move her daughter to a different sector. So, shakily, the Conovers managed to put up a front of a decent family while at home, Layla knew that neither of her parents would speak to each other at all. It was a week later that her father suddenly disappeared, leaving behind a note of apology for his departure. It was hours later that Layla and her mother were confronted on a deserted street while searching for her father.

It appeared that her father’s mistress was the girlfriend of one of the most powerful gang leaders in all of Nirvana and thinking that he was still there, they had come looking for him. That’s when Layla realized that was the reason her father had fled, to save himself while leaving his wife and daughter to take his punishment. She could hardly speak as her mother had an impromptu shoot out with the members that had approached her and managed to effectively kill all of them. However, one member was still barely alive and as his last action, shot Layla’s mother in the back. She fell to the floor, right in front of the trash can Layla was hiding behind. There was no chance of saving her and with her dying breath, Layla’s mother gave her daughter a blessing to live a happy life.

At only twelve years old, Layla was made both an orphan and a street rat from a single gunshot. She learned a week later that her father was found in an alley, his throat slit open and his wallet stolen. However, in her heart, she knew she could never forgive him. She simply turned off the television of her now empty apartment and left to begin her new job as a con-artist. That was the only positive aspect of her mother’s death, the discovery of the power she had. Layla found that she could tell anyone to do anything she wanted them to, although sometimes it didn’t work. With this was how she made her living, tricking people out of their money with various schemes and her odd power.

It wasn’t a glamorous one and neither was her side job, one as a private dancer at one of the higher class strip clubs. However, Layla still keeps the words of her mother in her heart and vows to one day escape her own personal hell of Nirvana and make her mark upon the world. Figuring out how is just the next step.

Starsign Skill: Impulse Manipulation. Layla can interfere with signals sent through the nervous system by either creating ones of her own or causing ongoing ones to stop in place. However she has to be making physical contact with the person in order to affect them.

Magic/Combat Style: Layla fights with latex gloves that have an apparatik device attached. This device is like a node that attaches to the palm of her hand and allows her to send electric shocks through a person’s body without even touching them. This lets her either stop nervous system signals to cause them to stop moving or manipulate them into doing things like attacking allies. Layla is also somewhat proficient in martial arts so she can defend herself with quick movements and fast palm strikes.

Name: Napoleon Fuisarte
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 5’9
Starsign: Light
Weapon: Magic

Appearance: Napoleon has slightly long blonde hair that appears unfixed but is actually styled specifically by Napoleon himself. His eyes are of a dark brown and are always obscured by a pair of sunflower-yellow tinted sunglasses. He isn’t a very muscular guy, just thin without looking awkward or gangly. His skin is also a very pale shade due to the hours he spends inside rather than outdoors. For clothes, Napoleon chooses to dress in what he deems to be “cool and stylish.” Bright colors and well fitted clothes are his favorite, along with metal accessories such as rings, chains and belt buckles. He also claims to have a few tattoos on his person though he never shows them after he claims to have them.

Personality: Napoleon is a social butterfly, outgoing and engaging to such a point that he has no problem striking up conversations with complete strangers. He has a sort of charisma that draw people to him yet he also has a knack for driving people away. Not many can handle his overbearing, eccentric nature but Napoleon never seems to notice when he’s rubbing people the wrong way. He’s usually off in his own world and oblivious to everything else, too busy thinking up some fantastic concept or outlandish idea to care. He has a tendency to over exaggerate and blow things out of proportion but can keep his head out of the clouds long enough to know when to stay grounded.

Whenever he sees someone in trouble, Napoleon is compelled to help nearly every time. He enjoys playing hero and thrives off of the gratitude of others. This notion is only supported by his personal code of morals. He holds this code to a high esteem and believes in his actions because of it, giving him a strong will. He never backs down from any sign of trouble and if he truly believes in it, he would risk his life for anything or anyone.

History: Napoleon was born to an average couple in the capital of Satellite City. However, his mother passed away soon after his birth which left him to be raised by his newly widowed father at a very young age. Instead of moping around in depression though, Napoleon’s father put on a brave face for the world and his son which, in turn, inspired Napoleon to do the same. The first few years were an awkward time for the Fuisarte’s but through trial and error, Napoleon’s father became one of an above-average caliber.

Napoleon’s father owned an antique store called “Starcatchers Commodities” and everyday Napoleon would spend hours interacting with the merchandise. To him, the shields and figurines replaced the balls and cars boys his age usually played with. Their age fascinated him for behind the years lied a wealth of untold stories waiting to be discovered. This is what eventually led to his interest in writing. This interest lasted him all the way until the end of high school where he realized that it was what he wanted to be doing in his life. Napoleon promptly applied to a college specializing in the arts in Satellite City and after receiving his acceptance, starting attending at the age of eighteen.

Two years into his college schooling, Napoleon received a scholarship to a much more prestigious college located near Yorza and transferred there.Then, after two more years, he graduated with a B.A. in English. After graduating, Napoleon took a year to explore the continent, going from place to place to gain experience he could use when writing his stories. With this trip, Napoleon gained knowledge of many facts and customs of the populace around the world and this broad array was one he believed would assist him on his journey to become an author. In the meantime, he writes for newspapers and broadcast stations on the side while he resides in Yorza, dreaming of his chance to publish.

However, presently, Napoleon claims to have experienced a “writer’s block” as of late. He feels that there is no story interesting enough to inspire him to write and as a result, he has been failing to produce anything literary wise or even article wise. In order to find his “muse” as he calls it, Napoleon is taking a break from writing for a year. He wishes to hopefully find something interesting enough for him to become inspired again and is starting his leave with a visit to his father.

Maybe there at Satellite City will he find the inspiration he has been so desperately searching for.

Starsign Skill: Seventh Spectrum. Napoleon can harness the seven colors of the light spectrum and bend them to his liking. However, this mostly take the form of seven orbs. One at a time, he can summon the orbs around him to perform various combative tasks until eventually, all seven are available. It’s then that he can combine them to form the color white, which is much more powerful than the individual colors. If Napoleon uses this power too much then it turns into the color black, which feeds off his energy and is much more weaker than the other colors.

Magic/Combat Style: Napoleon doesn’t wield a weapon as he mostly uses magic to fight. He stays in the back and casts flashy, dazzling light spells that either blind or deal damage to the enemy. Either that or use his starsign skill. When using his starsign skill, Napoleon uses his available colors in various formations such a a straight beam or a flying discus. He can also use them defensively to form a shield or a platform for him to ride. When he combines them with his light magic, his skill can form an even deadlier weapon.

Keith is 6'0 with broad shoulders, and a muscular body from all the training throughout his life. He has short chestnut brown hair with a natural reddish tinge and bangs slightly parted at the front over his light brown eyes. At the dojo usually wears his dark blue kendo uniform, or karate uniform. In daily life he usually wears casual black pants, a t-shirt and a light coloured jacket.

Personality: Keith is a cheerful laidback guy with a handsome smile, always wearing a friendly face and displaying a energetic attitude. He loves socializing in crowds and has an innocent, almost childlike, aura to him. He's rarely serious, and his fun-loving personality may have others view him as immature or unreliable. He's probably not the most dependable guy, as he forgets easily and goes off into his little world, and tries to avoid drama or stress when he can. He loves teasing and joking around, and can be a bit of a flirt although he doesn't take it seriously. Although he's not exactly dense, he's the type of guy that'll push buttons that aren't supposed to be touched out of curiosity, and stick a fork in a toaster if told to. Keith has his own charm and charisma, and many people find it easy to warm up to him. He's passionate about martial arts and training, although he dislikes real combat.

History: Keith grew up in a training dojo in Val Lumbre all his life, his father a master at martial arts and kendo. Because his father was well known and respected, Keith wanted to show his father he could follow in his footsteps. Keith also has a loving mother, and an older brother named Roy. Roy didn't want to inherit the dojo, instead planning to become a doctor. However their father thought Keith wasn't suited for running a dojo (Keith's trying to prove him wrong though). In addition to training all his life, Keith kept his grades up, and when he graduated from high school he started helping his father train young students full-time. He proved to be a big hit, especially with the younger pupils. Currently Keith is a teacher at the dojo, along with his father, who trains advanced pupils, and other mentors. His strength is karate, although he teaches the basics of kendo to beginners. Keith lives in an apartment not far from the Guthrie Dojo, but when his father leaves for training, Keith temporarily moves back.

Starsign Skill: Teleportation. Keith can teleport instantly, which helps in either hiding, distracting, confusing enemies or speeding up his combat. He can teleport others with him if he's in contact, but it exhausts him faster. He can also create a rip in space (think black portal) that can 'suck' in long-range attacks, or a charging person, and teleport/direct them somewhere else.

Magic/Combat Style: Keith prefers close combat, either fighting using martial arts or a sword.

Arria stands at 5'2 with wavy light brown hair that reaches her shoulders and light brown eyes. She usually wears a simple white blouse and black pants in everyday life since it's also a simplified version of the restaurant uniform, although when she's illustrating she'll wear sweatpants and t-shirt or whatever is comfortable. In full restaurant uniform it includes a tie, black socks, and polished shoes. She usually wears her hair in a ponytail. Since she grew up in Val Lumbre most of her life, she's physically fit and loves going for walks.

Personality: Arria appears shy at first, but she becomes more talkative once she warms up to that person. She avoids crowds when possible, but loves socializing in a small group, especially over a meal or drinks. Arria also goes off on her own to read or draw. She's friendly, cheerful, but generous to a fault and can be easily manipulated or taken advantage of. She's also emotional, and generally lies on feelings and intuition rather than logic or facts which may cause her to clash with level-headed people. However despite her faults, she's supportive of her friends. Her hobbies include running/walking, being on a rowing team, reading, photography (for reference material), drawing - she can do digital, but also loves traditional pen/pencil, and pastels. She mostly draws everyday settings (i.e. people participating in sports), buildings, portraits, etc, anything that interests her.

History: She was born in Val Lumbre, her parents owning and operating a successful sports medicine clinic specializing in massage therapy and other practices. Although her parents expected her to become a massage therapist, and she did enjoy picking up techniques, she preferred drawing from an young age. Since she was born in the city of sports, she grew up surrounded by physical activity, and loved track and field, dancing, rowing, and swimming. Many of her teammates often joked that she possessed a magic touch since whenever they received a massage from her, it seemed their muscles got rejuvenated instantly. Despite the encouragement that she'd a great massage therapist, she wanted to be an illustrator instead. Also, she discovered via accident, she can heal small cuts simply by touching them. However she never told anyone about her ability, although it became useful whenever she got a paper cut. Since she only healed small wounds, she doesn't know the extent of her ability.

After she graduated from high school she moved to Satellite City to attend an art university there. She currently lives in an apartment only a walk away from both the university and various markets with 2 other roommates (also university students.)

Starsign Skill: Massage therapy. Arria is able to rejuvenate and recuperate tired, injured, or tensed muscles through a massage. She can also heal nonfatal wounds by simply touching, although treating them leaves her exhausted. On a more powerful scale, just by touching a person, they'd feel 100%, and able to perform in peak condition. Since this is her starsign, it has the potential to be more powerful than typical healing magic. On the opposite hand, she has a degeneration ability too, where touching someone can cause muscles to weaken. For now it can only affect the muscles touched, but with practice she could weaken an entire body with a simple touch.

Magic/Combat Style: Arria is mostly healing/support since she's unable to fight back (besides kicking and punching, etc). However she's fit and can easily run, hop over a fence to escape, etc.

Appearance: Normally dressed in a long skirt and a loose blouse, Martin carries her head up high and generally has a proud air about her. Her neatly kept sandy-brown hair hangs just above her shoulders, and her green eyes, set behind a pair of thick-framed glasses, seem almost to pierce the soul. Her stern glance and uptight demeanor gives the impression that she looks down upon others.

Personality: And indeed she does! An extremely loyal Astrollisist, she views those who ignore the scriptures and the path written out for them with bitter contempt, even if said path for her has led her to be a mere secretary hidden away in a corner of the Church of Astrollism of Yorza, when she would much rather be a talist. Any time she takes away from the city is usually taken up trying to convert others to the faith, to little avail. Martin has a decent enough social life, fostered by the highly cultural nature of the city, but has experienced little romance, as the scriptures had dictated against it.

History: Born to a pair of highly devout parents, young Miss Martin found herself learning of the blessings of Astrollism from a young age. Much of her time was spent studying and learning the scriptures of the religion, aiming in her mind to become one of the great talists in the Church, perhaps even the Holy Divum, though the office was usually placed in the hands of men. Unfortunately for her, this was not to be, as she was relegated to the office of a secretary by the words of the text. She trust in it, as she always did, and took up the office, though in her heart there is a tinge of bitterness that perhaps may release itself one day.

Martin has a sibling, an older sister, who teaches in Satellite City. Their relation is strained, to say the least.

Starsign Skill: Encapture. Forms a solid cocoon made of earth around the target, with a limited range of effect. The cocoon may be partial or complete, and can be used to stop the target in its tracks or to defend it as of a shield. The duration of partial encapturement depends on how long it takes for Martin to get out of the effective range (and for the earth to retract itself), while complete encapturement can be use for as long as the target may hold its breath, assuming the idea is to not suffocate the target. Both also rely on how long Martin is capable of concentrating on the encapturment. May also be used on Martin herself. May not target more than one target at a time.

Restrictions include the necessity of the target to be on the ground (or only a little bit off) and the ability of the target to escape before being captured if fast enough.

Magic/Combat Style: Short and simple, Martin is a lousy fighter, more used to using her Starsign skill to prevent anybody who wishes her harm from moving towards her as she runs away. Evidently, she has not figure out that she can encapture them and shoot their head off.

Appearance: Unkempt hair and a similarly messy beard, both black, make him look older than he actually is. His eyes are hidden behind a pair of sunglasses that he rarely takes off. He dresses in a long beige coat, almost a trenchcoat, covering a messy gray shirt, and a pair of slightly too short jeans over a ragged pair of tennis shoes. Thin in structure with a gaunt look about him, though a grin on his face may make one question how much of that look is affected.

Oh, and he's blind. Just thought that may be important.

Personality: Despite his handicap, Manto is extremely active with his life. One of those almost-senile pranksters, he enjoys playing tricks on people and laughing at their misfortune when they fall for the aforementioned trick.
When in the rare case of not being in the mood to make a joke of someone, Manto will become the hermit, wandering away from anyone else to do his own little thing in the figurative corner. He refuses to let anyone know what he does during this time, though has no such qualms on letting others know what someone else is doing at the moment. Manto is an excellent source for trivial facts.

History: Born in Millix Headquarters, Manto was not originally blind. After an unfortunate accident caused him to lose his sight and send his mother into comatose (his father had died of illness a few years before), Manto was sent to live with his uncle, who was, as most are, one of those good-for-nothing types and brought the young man (age 15) to Nirvana with him. There, he gambled away most of his money and possessions, leaving him in heavy debt, which caused a number of his debtors to seek him out, beat him up, and take him away, leaving poor Manto abandoned in a dark alley, alone.

Fortunately, an elderly man discovered the boy as he sobbed and brought him to his home to help as a servant, not knowing of Manto's blindess. It was about the time that they entered the man's house that Manto discovered his ability to hear the shadows, though at first their messages came en masse, causing him great confusion and fear. He was able, though, to eventually control what came to him, and functioned rather well despite his disability. The old man died of natural causes when Manto was 22, and with no heirs the home fell under the domain of the state. Manto, kicked out of the building, was forced to find a new place to live with what small money he had. He used his powers to his full ability in casinos around the city, quickly making enough money to buy the house back by what amounted to cheating. Manto currently lives in the well-protected building by himself. The few times that he has tried to find information on the condition of his mother have proved unfruitful.

Starsign Skill: Shadow Whispers. Can call (mentally) upon the shadows surrounding him to tell him, and only him, what is occuring around him to an excellent degree of detail and range. Speed of whispers is approximately/impossibly that at which a normal human being would be able to pick up with sight (So, 3*10^8 m/s). At an extremely limited range (~3 feet), can read the minds of people, though the time difference is greater (~Two minutes). May also give more detailed instructions to the shadows (i.e., remind him after a certain period of time of an event that occurred). Must actively be asking for the information (i.e., if he is not expecting a sneak attack, the shadows won't tell him there is one).

Restrictions include the need for shadows, so blasting a light at him makes it hard for him to get info.

Magic/Combat Style: Regular avoidance of the Nirvana Wannabe Police Department and the various gangs around the city has given him great agility in his movements. Manto's normal form of attack, if it could be called that, is to dance around the enemy and whack him/her with his cane until they give up or are beaten into unconsciousness. The oddly intelligent shadows also know basic human pressure points, so Manto is capable of paralyzing by following their directions.

History: Astral fell from the skies in the form of a shooting star fourteen years ago during a meteor shower that happened during that period. Landing in Yorza, the city of faith. He was immeditately considered a divine deity, hence being raised by the church of Astrollism.

Now being groomed to be the next Holy Divum of Astrollism, once the current Holy Divum retires. There are some priests who dispise him, even though Astral had no say in the matter. Astral is a cheerful and naive child with a pure heart, being raised in the church, he had naturally also beleived in the religion. Being a strong believer in Justice and peace, he beleives there is good is everyone.

Although, he has some flaws of his own like quick to trust people, even to some people with not so pure intentions. He is also a klutz, which is very un-becoming of a future Holy Divum. Astral was named by the current Holy Divum since had no name when he was found. Curious about his origins, he decides to leave the church in order to learn about himself. However, his bodyguards that were assigned to look after him are determined to find their future leader and bring him back the church safely.

Starsign Skill: "Nature Intuition" (Which means he can talk to plants and animals. Also he can excelerate the growth of plants and trees to use as shields and weapons against his enemies)

Magic/Combat Style: Healing & Defensive magic, doesn't have much of a combat style since he's more a spell caster, but he can also manpulate and control the plants around him.

History: Lucille is a young girl who has lived her life as an orphan and makes what money she can to keep living.

Lucille at first was brought up in the city, Nirvana. Her mother had to try and make ends meet in this city after her father, left her mother and even her, when she was still only a baby.

After a while, her mother became unwell until finally, she passed away from an illness that could have been cured if they had the money to pay for the medicine.

Orphaned at the tender age of seven, she had to toughen herself up. So she left Nirvana to head for Val Lumbre, where she made a name for herself in the events that took place there. She had become known in Val Lumbre as the 'Little Fighter'

Lucille is loud, spunky and rebellious. Although she does have a sweet-side and good-hearted, she's very scary when comes to her devious plans of sorts and when her tomboyish side takes over, it makes most of the bystanders scared of her.

Since she's very tomboyish, she doesn't many femine sides, but when it comes to romance, she's a total fanatic on it. She also longs to do some girly things that she was unable to do in her childhood, which brings her out of her tough shell. When she went to get some items from an certain antique shop, her life would never be the same.

Starsign Skill: “Chronos Sight” (Which she can see events that happened in the past when she touches objects that have belonged to someone, and rarely glimpses of the future) She can slow or fasten time's pace or even stop time. She can also move her body through the time-stream, allowing her to warp.

Magic/Combat Style: She uses tonfas as her basic form attack with also using martial arts into her weapons. She then uses her time abilities to aid herself and allies or sabotage their enemies movements.

Ok, just some language corrections and a name change for Marken.

Name: Lachlan Hayle

Age: 28

Weapon: Lachlan's primary weapon is a small telescopic metal rod, which upon a slight channeling of magic, will expand to become a long and flexible pole weapon. Also, Lachlan carries with him a traditional three section quarterstaff and will occassionally use both weapons at once to fight. He has also been known to be an efficient hand to hand fighter.

Appearance: Lachlan sports a relatively good-natured face, with very relaxed features at most times, but if absolutely needed, it is not beyond his ability to harden his features considerably, which has surprised many who have sought to take advantage of his good humour. He has a fair skin tone, with an almost unnoticeable yellow tinge to it. His eyes are a considerably dark brown, almost black. Having a similar colour, his hair is cut to short and neat length.

Having been adapted to a strict diet in conjunction with long martial arts training, Lachlan is of average height at 5 feet 10 inches, and sports an athletic build, that is; lightly muscled with strong arms and legs and a lean body frame.

Generally, when he isn't working, Lachlan's style of dress is somewhat casual. He has a tendency to wear loose shirts and sleek pants. As for accessories, he keeps an expensive looking silver wristwatch on his left arm, and a thin metal necklace around his neck. In colder weather, he will take up a long coat, as well as a beanie that goes just below his ears, with his hair poking out at the sides and the back.

Personality: Having a good nature and somewhat carefree, Lachlan is generally considered an optimist with a very laid back and unassuming attitude to most who speak with him. Additionally, he is rarely troubled, radiating a sense of calmness and keeping a very cool head at all times. Even in fairly sticky situations, Lachlan will never let his adrenaline or temper get the best of him, opting to smile and laugh, even at the expense of his own misfortune.

Despite his carefree looks, Lachlan is at all times, incredibly perceptive and a deep thinker, taking note of the quickest of movements, recognising the smallest of details and if necessary, acting accordingly. He is also very patient with most aspects of life, taking the time to consider the world in all his activities.

History: Born in the centre of the activities in Stralle Lights to a wealthy, yet humble couple, Lachlan's life seemed to be set out for him. With such riches available to him at such a young age, Lachlan would not have had to exert any effort in the things he did, and still be able to succeed and prosper in his later years. However, his family rose several eyebrows when they insisted that the very little money would be given to his upbringing. His parents then leased their Beachside manor and purchased a modest house in Val Lumbre. Upon growing up, he had few luxuries, and his parent's money was kept in the bank, out of reach of Lachlan's initial temptations. Over time, these temptations disappeared but a sense of rebellion still grew within him.

At the age of five, Lachlan was sent to a public school, his parents opting not to enroll him in a private school as they thought it would distance him from the world. However, they recieved a shock when they realised how badly he was doing in his first high school year. He excelled in sports but his academic progress was shockingly low. This would turn out to be a result of laziness, as he was often surrounded by friends and was easily distracted. Exasperated, but understanding, his father immediately sent him to a martial arts school, where he not only learned to hone his physical attributes, but learned a great deal about cultivation. It was here, at the age of 14, that Lachlan learned his potential in his powers regarding his starsign. He soon became unparalleled in his skill as a martial artist, and additionally, having been taught cultivation, his grades began to soar. However, his entire personality having been changed, he was unassuming and kept a relatively low profile.

He graduated from his high school as dux, and having earnt a lot of free time, his martial arts teachers suggested that he take part in one of the martial arts tournaments. Curious, Lachlan signed up for a competition, and was able to fell all his opponents without taking a single blow. His parents, realising his potential, and sure of his self cultivation; left him a sum of money, and informed him of their plans to move back to Stralle Lights. Lachlan accepted this, and used the money to set up his own martial arts school, with blessings from his former teachers. It wasn't long before he became one of the most respected and sought after martial arts teachers, especially at such a young age, with a well balanced mastery of martial arts used in conjunction with support magic. Many of his disciples began proud and boastful and begged for Lachlan to participate in the larger scale tournaments, but modest as always, Lachlan would always politely decline. Eventually, Lachlan's pupils would become just as humble and modest, and Lachlan himself forbade them participation in tournaments.

However, one day, one of Lachlan's more uncultivated disciples entered the grand tournament to try for the title of Head of the Coliseum. With the training, he progressed well, until a favoured to win competitor, a brutal and ruthless man, beat him almost to death. Lachlan visited him in the hospital and shocked at the level in which his student had been savaged, he signed up for the next tournament four months later. Undeniably, Lachlan instantly became the favoured to win, his reputation preceding him, also impressing many spectators that had not known of his skill. Eventually, in the final fight, Lachlan found himself facing the competitor who had so ruthlessly beat his student, who was looking to defend his title as Head of the Coliseum. Interestingly enough, when the fight began, Lachlan made no aggressive attacks, dodging in between his opponent's attacks and defence and letting forth quick punches, but retracting them before they connected. In the end, all it took was a slight trip to bring the exhausted man crashing to the ground, knocking him unconcious. As Lachlan was to be pronouced Head of the Coliseum, he simply smiled, rejected the title, and walked out of the stadium, returning to the hospital to watch over his pupil as he continued to recover.

After that, Lachlan discovered that the ruthless man he had just bested had only entered the tournament when he had noticed one of Lachlan's pupils was participating. Upon further investigation, and questioning of the man himself after besting him in a duel once more, he learned that his pupil was beaten only to draw Lachlan himself into the next tournament. Discovering his reputation was far too dangerous to remain as a head of a martial arts school, Lachlan entrusted the leadership to one of his most apt pupils, and went on leave, to wait until his name died down.

Starsign Skill: Tranquility. Lachlan will use the currents of the air around him, giving him the ability to read disturbances in the wind, greatly sharpening his instincts, reflexes and his ability to read an enemy's attack. However, his movements also become much quicker and more elegant, and his body, keeping in flow with the wind currents surrounding him, will instinctively move away from certain attacks on its own. He has also been known to displace the air to cause a sudden rupture in a certain airspace, resulting in a sudden, erupting gale with enough force to push a person to the ground. He rarely uses this as he is also affected by the strong winds.

Magic/Combat Style: He generally avoids using magic as an offensive attack, preferring to use it otherwise as a means of support magic that complements various styles of martial arts. Lachlan is a naturally talented fighter. He has naturally quick reflexes and incredible insight, and he developed his skills further through self-training and effort. In terms of style, Lachlan is a martial arts specialist, fighting unarmed or with his long polearm weapons for a reach advantage or to deflect attacks that would otherwise be deadly to touch with bare skin. However, as a martial artist, Lachlan focuses on defending himself; having a tendency to avoid, block, and redirect attacks or counterattack with as little damage to himself as possible. He complements his fighting style with his starsign skill, allowing him to avoid and get around an opponent's defence much more easily.

To everyone who's coming back, thanks! You guys are awesome!

Let's see, with the returning characters, that brings the current total up to 14 characters and I'm sure there's going to be three more characters so that brings it up to 17. I'm going to let everyone know that this RP will have a cap of 24 characters. Sorry but any more then that and it'll just become chaotic and a repeat of what happened the first time.

With that said, I'm going to have to ask all newcomers to submit only ONE bio. I'm really sorry but that's the only way to keep everything under control. If there's room after that then I'll allow for more but once we reach twenty-four characters then that's it.

I will not go into a third round of Starsigns. I will not accept more people. I will not allow more characters. So yeah, there's me waving around my GM rod.

Before I forget, for those coming back, just edit your post with your bios in it for later if you haven't already so I can make a GRAND MASTER LIST like I did before. Thank you!

All right, I'm good with making one character starting this then. ^_^ The only thing I'm concerned with is the Starsign, since the one I kind of plan for my character is already taken (*Time*, though it wouldn't be doubled up in this current one, unless black_dragon returns... Just hope I'll be quick enough to call dibs on it when Thursday arrives. ^^;; ).

I really like this RP, it's just a shame that it just reached a writer's block so soon on the first one. (Writer blocks, an writer's worst enemy. XD)

Hopefully the second one attempt will go much further. ^.~

Anyways, I've already edited the bios for my characters so I'm all set now. ^_^ (It was mostly Lucille who needed most of the changes but more or less, she's still the same. =P)
