Tales of the World: The Radiant Age (PARAGRAPH FORMAT!) OOC

Plot: Fifteen heroes have been chosen.
They will receive the power of gods.
The Banes of Humanity will fall beneath their might,
And a new era of prosperity will begin again...

Those who shall bring the light to this world...
We call them... the Radiant...

The world of Granide (yes, RM2's world) is being threatened by an evil force that has the power to control people's emotions.

Long ago, there were two gods who ruled over Granide, the God of Light and the God of Darkness. It didn't take long before these two gods started battling over the world. The world was devastated from a strange pattern of night and day as the gods fought. Eventually, the God of Light prevailed. However, before the victor could entirely vanquish his foe, the God of Darkness split himself into seven different pieces, which thus became the seven Banes of Humanity, and before spliting apart, told the God of Light that "as long as there is darkness in the hearts of men, I will exist..." Yes, that was supposed to sound like Morrison's line in ToP... XD However, not wishing the God of Darkness' power to hold reign over mortals, the God of Light as well split himself into seven pieces, each having an opposite emotion to the seven of the God of Darkness, and spread himself over the world so that light would remain over the world.

Years later, an evil sorcerer has come into power with one intention: to revive the Banes of Humanity and destroy the world. One by one, they are being revived in order to bring disaster upon the world. The Banes of Humanity are now killing the World Tree. At this rate, the amount of time still remaining for the world is very limited before everything is devoured in darkness. However, 15 chosen heroes are the only thing that stands between an apocalypse and prosperity.

The hard part is going to be getting those fifteen heroes to gather under one name to save the world...

Rules:
- THREE (major) characters per person! Even I shall be following this rule this time! Having less important characters show up for a SHORT PERIOD OF TIME is allowed, though. They can also be either good (the Radiants), neutral, or evil. Please be sure of your choice before submitting it, it will not be changed after you made your choice.
- Unlike my other RP, this RP will be in long paragraph format, rather than skit format.
- Be nice to other people in the RP. No flaming, verbal bashing, or trolling.
- Even though this story is based on Tales and attacks like "Demon Fang", etc. will be used, please don't just say "Demon Fang!". Describe your moves.
- No controlling other people's characters. You cannot make another person's character unconscious/maimed/dead or injuried. Only the member who owns that character can do those things. Anyone else cannot.
- No apocalyptic moves that nobody can dodge. (This is called God-modding. ) Don't even PM me saying if you want to do some kind of move like this because I'll say no.
- Don't drastically change the plot. It will make other people confused and end up with arguements.
- No 20 people parties please. Please make short parties so other people will not have problems trying to remember numberous members' Roleplaying characters.
- You can have events leading up to drastic plot changes. Just not too soon or too confusing.
- You MUST describe your surroundings and actions fully.
- Healing only does so much..... it doesn't heal you completely. And you cannot bring people back from the dead since it's not really possible. Also, if a magic spell is not absolutely instantaneous, it takes a few seconds for the effects to kick in. Not everything is instant cast, instant effect.
- Magic can cure smaller wounds, but if your arm is hacked off, you can't really make a new one.
- No racism nor discrimination to ANY member of the fourms taking part in the RP. (As long as your character has race issues with another character's race, that's okay (not exactly encouraged, though), but this doesn't mean that you can be racist against another RPer's character because you're trying to be racist towards them.)
- No cussing unless it's in your character's personality. But no hardcore swearing. We do have younger members.
- Remember, these enemies aren't cake or easy. No one, no matter HOW strong, can tear through hundreds of people/demons without rest, help, or a ton of support from magics or etc.
- No use of word abbreviations like 'u' or 'ur' because I hate it. Also, type full sentences. Occasional misspellings are okay, but don't make it a habit. USE SPELL CHECK!
- Please do not use 1337... *ahem* I mean "leet". That is forbidden since some people will not understand and be able to carry on with the story.
- If I think of (or steal XD) any other rules, they will go here. :3=

History: Lea and her twin sister Jewel have lived on a quiet farm 5 minutes away from a small city called Vistol all their lives. The two of them singlehandedly have worked the farm for years after an accident left their father paralyzed from the waist down and their mother was killed. Because of this, they have become very strong in order to take care of all the duties on the farm.

Lea is always compared to her more attractive, more sociable sister, and is always trying to outdo her, but the only thing Lea outdoes her sister in is fighting. People wrongfully attribute this to her having a violent personality (which, when she's not acting like a sadist, isn't exactly true). Since nobody is willing to see her any differently, Lea just ignores everybody, much to Jewel's attempts to make her do the opposite. She has no interest in marriage and dumps any guy her sister forces onto her brutally.
Any other notable details: This character is pre-death Augla from my other RP, if it wasn't already obvious. :3

Here's my 2nd of 3. This one's my standard continuity crossover, even though she doesn't know it herself...

Name: Lanwynn El Eis

Nickname: L

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown

Species: Elf?

Hometown: Emerald Vale, though she does not remember where it is or anything else about it.

Starting Location: Halfway between Vistol and Acarth and very much unconscious.

Appearance: Bright hazel eyes with dark green hair tied back in a ponytail. She has a relatively pale complexion. She wears a brown, waist length leather tunic with a small white cloth mantle about her shoulders. The mantle is tied with a red ribbon, while the tunic is laced up at the front and worn over a body fitting black shirt. She completes the outfit with a pair of baggy brown and white cloth shorts, which fall to around the 1/3 mark on her thighs. She completes her outfit with a golden bangle on her right arm and black ankle boots. She is quite short and slender, some might even say petite and has below average measurements.

Alignment: Neutral

Class: Sniper

Weapon: A state of the art compound recurve bow, accurate over an entire mile in her hands.

Personality: Her personality could be described as 'the negative of the sum of her parts.' Far from the common trope of the depressed amnesiac, she is wilfull, positive and easy to talk to. She loves to fight and is a fairly skilled martial artist for when things get too close for her liking, though her fighting skills are only slightly better than that of an average soldier.

History: As much of a mystery to those she meets as it is to her.

Any other notable details: She can converse with some animals, most notably, foxes. Her memory is completely shattered, save for knowing that her hometown is a place named Emerald Vale, her beau is called Leo and the words Mateus and Archania are somehow important... She can cast some basic spells, but nothing that would be considered past 'low tier' in the actual games. That said, she does not remember that she can cast them inherently.

Emmet is about average built with light tanned skin, though he is a bit slim around his stomach/waist area. His hair is a shade of dark maroon, cut chin-length while a thin portion of the back of his hair remains long and chest length if it were to drape over one shoulder (he also often keeps it braided). His face is narrow and with slightly sharp features. Over his jade green eyes, he wears slightly narrowed rectangular glasses that tints slightly in the sunlight and is mostly used for far-distance sighting.

His clothes compose of a dark robe, colored black and dark brown, draped over a white, thin under tunic, and dark brown baggy pants which are usually hidden underneath the robe. Due to his constant traveling, he wears brown leather boots and a single, fingerless glove over his right hand only. And tied around his neck is a simple, blue ribbon—given to him by a special person.

Alignment: Radiant
Class: Bishop

Weapon: Bo Staff; the staff is colored black with maroon tribal markings/runes etched along the sides and at the top sits a small, translucent, blue orb. Also weak to medium-based spells.

Personality: Emmet is basically the typical womanizer, almost going after any pretty lady he sees. He often displays a light, cheerful attitude when he’s around women or his companions. He likes to goof around sometimes and this often brings out a naughty side of his personality. Though despite his cheerful behavior, it is often a mask to hide his true feelings about those among him. Known to be one of the above proficient bishops of Karthain, he can be calculating and judgmental about others at times and often tests them to see if they are truly trustworthy to be around in the end.

History: Most of Emmet’s childhood memories were being raised in a rather large orphanage in the scholar’s city of Karthain. He wasn’t often well liked when he was at the orphanage, often a little rebel as a child. However when he was about nine years old, he was adopted into a middle-class family and once he settled in his new home, his parents immediately threw him into one of the city’s academies to study magic and advance in his educational studies. He was often pressured by his parents, adopting a cold personality towards them and being the rebel that he is, started to clown around in class, not taking his studies seriously.

However, that all changed when a girl a couple years younger than him entered his life; forced to tutor him by his parents and professors, and all the while spending time with him at the academy. He was reluctant at first to accept her, but once she spent months with him, he started to become infatuated. Telling him that the smile on his face always brought her happiness, he started to do so every day and eventually his attitude became lightened and his coldness began to melt away. She had given him a ribbon (which he treasures greatly) and with that, Emmet had made a promise to her that he will not fail in his studies.

Though with a year before his graduation from the academy, the girl suddenly disappeared from Karthain and Emmet was nearly heartbroken by her departure—especially when she never said goodbye to him. He had heard rumors from fellow students that she and her family were killed in an accident on a trip away from the city, and also word saying that she died from a strange illness—all of which Emmet knew were false. Though he couldn’t do anything about her disappearance, especially when exams for graduating were nearing and he had made a promise to her to not fail. No matter what. So he continued with his studies, occasionally socializing with his peers and flirting with the girls he’d meet, which eventually led him to become a player among the academy. When he was finally graduated, he received a bow staff as a gift from his parents and he decided to leave his home, traveling all around Granide in order to find out the cause of his friend’s sudden disappearance.

Any other notable details: In his traveling bag, he carries around a couple of large, thick books: both on magic and sciences… however, inside one of the books, there is a page that hides a gap that keeps his stash of *coughnaughtycough* magazines.

Nickname: “Thorn of Camorr” (or more like a title instead)
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Species: Human
Hometown: Camorr; the city of thieves (located several kilometers north of Karthain City)
Starting Location: City of Boundless Wisdom; Alcarth

Appearance: (Drawing hopefully coming soon!)
Norah’s built is a bit on the thin side, just slightly below the average, and with the clothing she wears, appears boyish. Though because of her profession in disguising herself, she often restrains her breasts with tight bandages underneath a loose, buttoned sleeveless shirt, and her skin is a very light shade of tan. Her hair is jet-black in color and is cut short to about chin length. It is also slightly wavy with the tips of her hair sticking out into the air, appearing almost messy-like. Her eyes are slightly narrowed and are a shade of cyan.

Her clothes usually vary in many styles depending on what role she is playing as or is disguised as a male in order to fool the authorities pursuing her after she had stolen goods. Though she doesn’t wear any type of armor (due to her having to be able to move swiftly), she is most comfortable wearing loosely fit clothing—any type of shirt—as long it is underneath the large gray overcoat and wears baggy black pants with a maroon silk cloth (stolen) as a belt. Underneath her sleeves of the overcoat are the retractable arm blades and is kept hidden from sight until the blade is released. Lastly, a pair of long brown boots reaching up to just inches below her knees.

Alignment: Neutral
Class: Thief

Weapon: Twin retractable arm blades—one located on each forearm. The “sheath” is made of light iron making it strong enough to be used as a small shield, but it is only able to withstand minimal amounts of pressure—mainly to deflect projectiles/blows—otherwise it will break if held locked with another weapon too long. The blade is made of steel and after it has been released from the sheath, it is about as long as Norah’s forearm but slightly shorter, and is single edged.

Personality: Despite the various of personas Norah takes on, most of the time she is quite serious, taking her work of thievery into deep consideration (whether it is pickpocketing local residents, stealing from merchants/vendors, or taking on high-class people or nobles) doing whatever she can in order for her to maintain her ‘healthy’ lifestyle she has now. Though, she does have a soft spot for a particular man whom she had to spend almost half her life with, teaching him in an academy in Karthain, and started developing feelings for him. However, even then, she tries her best to not allow her emotions get a hold of her to interfere with her goals.

History: Norah was born and raised in the city of Camorr to a well-known clan of thieves. Most of her childhood was spent learning the ways of thievery from her family and by the time she was ten, she had excelled into becoming an excellent con artist. In towns nearby, she would disguise herself and steal from the rich, making a name of herself and earning the title of “Thorn of Camorr”.

As she got older though, there was a rumor going on in the city of Karthain that the academy held a secret treasure that was only known to its headmaster and trusted staff members, and Norah was up to the challenge of gaining that ‘treasure’. However, gaining entry into the academy was difficult and the only opportunity she got was to disguise herself as an already attending student and sneak in false records for her new persona. It was then she was forced to tutor a rebel student and she had no choice but to aid him, hopefully to gain his trust and to the staff of the academy as well.

For months she had spent time with him, gaining his trust. Soon after the man became infatuated with her and for the first time having a man develop feelings for her, she began having the same feelings for him as well—giving him her favorite blue ribbon. However, remembering her original goal in the academy, she felt like she had wasted too much time with the man and quickly went snooping around for the ‘treasure’. It was then she heard that the treasure wasn’t held there and enraged, she soon decided to cut ties with the place altogether. A year before the man had to graduate; she finally erased all records of her time in Karthain, disappearing back to her hometown to gain more information about Karthain’s ‘treasure’ and other fortunes to steal. However, as she now travels around Granide, she would never forget the man she had spent time with in the academy.

Any other notable details: In her right eye, there’s a faint speck of gold color along her lower iris.

@Augla: Well it wasn't like my Gajuma chara. was influenced much by the evil side in your other RP (he even saved one of your villains)... I mean, the only thing they were trying to do was kill him (so it's obvious he wouldn't join their side anyways). So he swayed more towards the good side.

Though for Norah, that will be different. She may not even be involved much with the main group of Radiants (other than probably with Emmet). So, like Sapphie's neutral character, it all depends on which sides she is influenced first and being the thief she is, depends if they would benefit her in reaching her own, selfish goals sooner (if that makes sense).

I plan to only stick with these two characters for now... however, if we might be in need of bad guys, then I'll make my final character evil to help balance it out.
