Good to see they're still using those atrocious sprites from Phantasia FVE. _________________ SOON.

| They are FVE sprites? I honestly can't see them in the tiny screens on that photo, not even if it's sprites or ToVS style 3D shaded characters. |

Hm, a blog entry I read mentioned something about the spell freeze being gone, I think. _________________

Actually both at once it seems. As I understood it so far it seems to combine both seamlessly, not as a 2 in 1 collection. I guess someone familiar with ND's story could explain if and how that may work. Maybe like Leon's Side in ToDDC? |

One is really a direct sequel to the other, so unless they majorly change the plot, then they will have to be at least somewhat separate entities.
On a different not, if the version of Phantasia that's in this has spell freeze, then namco bandai is officially the dumbest company on the planet. |

Is that why the battle screen HUDs are clearly completely different in that scan, pflaume? _________________ SOON.

I suppose they could do flashbacks to Palace Gudra with Mel and Dio as Meltia and Dios, but actually incorporating them seems pretty difficult unless they change the time periods to which Norn transports the two. Mel and Dio are supposed to visit Arche at 223 years of age and then get teleported back to various points in the timeline after the heroes have already returned to their respective places (i.e. Klarth and Arche alone in the past, etc.). _________________

Good point, but I guess they still have to have different battle mechanics (and this HUDs) between normal battles and the Narikiri style battles. Anyway I'll try to keep the OP up to date if there's more concrete info.

Ok, thanks for the clarification, I'm not all that familiar with ND's story.

This basically can be written off as staying in Japan, since I doubt Namdai will want to translate and voice two games. |

Well, I agree generally since they don't localize much anyway, but I think it's too early to say the voice acting will be a contributing factor. I mean, ND didn't have VA to begin with and while they can certainly use the FVE samples for Phantasia, there's no way to know if they'll even include all of Phantasia since they're apparently working on integration of two somewhat disparate games. _________________
