This is no longer the Kingdom Hearts vs. Tales of Symphonia thread.
Now it's Milk vs. Orange Juice.

| Honestly, I would go with Tos. I love Kingdom Hearts as well, but Tales just brings more. There's better character development and interaction. By the end of Tos, you've really grown attached to the characters and you want the game to go on. At the end of KH, you're lucky if you don't want to strangle Sora by the end. The only thing KH has over ToS is the story that drives you to want to know everything about the world. Of course, that just leads to you spending more money. Tos is mostly wrapped up in a nice little bow at the end. Anywhere, there's my two cents |

Well yeah that usually happens when you compare a stand-alone title to a series that adds to it's story with each entry. _________________ *Sig by WarriorAngel01*

| A debate between my #1 favorite game and my #3 favorite game... It's actually a close call. I like both games nearly equally in terms of content, so it really boils down to just one thing for me: the battle system. I like the KH battle system, because there's no transition into battle from outside of battle, and that the fights and special attacks always look really cool. Then again, ToS has multiplayer; a feature that gives it a serious upper hand in its own right. If I had to choose, I would probably pick Kingdom Hearts. But, like I said, it's really close. |

ToS and kingdom hearts both had two games.
Tales series may have meny games but they all have different characters with different story lines _________________

| I think Shadowfox meant it the other way around, with ToS being the standalone, and KH being the series. And there's actually 6 games in the KH series. |

Ok, well, to bring up a point that not many people have touched upon:
What do you like more, seraph, a game that brings in nostalgic characters and uses them in a new storyline, or an entirely new universe that has basically everything in it working differently, and having a game take place entirely in that universe?
If you like the nostalgia, OBVIOUSLY Kingdom Hearts.
Otherwise, Tales games are great.
Also, what type of battle system do you prefer?:
Single-player? or co-op?
Button-mashing? Or strategy?
KH is clearly single-player, so you can't play with anyone else ever, which is a drag for me. However, most Tales games are multiplayer, if not all, so that is definitely a plus.
KH can easily be won by just button mashing (this does not apply to 1.5 for GBA, it takes out-of-battle strategy and some in-battle, and I liked it a lot for that), so if you like games where you just hit stuff non-stop, then by all means. Symphonia basically requires more effort. Since you can only be on the same plane as the opponent, any semi-challenging opponent will destroy you if you attempt to button-mash them to death. You have to time blocks, spells, jumping, certain skills, combos, and ESPECIALLY the Union attack. All of these take thought and quick-thinking. I personally prefer this style of game (hardcore Smash player here), so I enjoy it moreso than games that can get away with otherwise.
Also, why are the parameters narrowed only to Symphonia? I understand why only KH1, because it is clearly in a series, but Symphonia is NOT the only Tales game. If you want a better battle system, Abyss and beyond has you covered. They also allow multiplayer a lot better, too.
Anyways, hope this helps. _________________

I've noticed that a lot of the KH fanbase seems to sympathize with Organization XIII, even though they're supposed to be the villains of the game. The way i see it, the Organization is divided between the affably evil (Axel, Xigbar, Luxord and Demyx) and the outright douchebags (Xemnas, Saix, Xaldin and Larxene). Poor Roxas was just taken along for a ride. |

Yeah that's about right. It's ironic though that Days really helps you get into the inner workings of the Org and makes you sympathize with Roxas thus making some of the villains actually not so evil and hurts Sora's image a bit in the process.

Now obviously ToS. I think its a really dumb question to ask on a Tales series forum. Kingdom Hearts II was a great game, but it can't top off ToS's outraegous plot twist. _________________
