Total of 4 stages. one with Ryu, one with Ayane and two single-player team battle missions. Ryu's stage ends with a boss fight against a gigantice statue that fires lasers at you, whereas Ayane's stage just comes to a halt with no boss.

Most fun weapon is Ryu's massive sword making a welcome return. Ryu's other weapons are the dragon sword, the claws and the kusari-gama. Ayane has no other weapons sadly. she's faster than ryu, and tends to do lots of hits at a time. The team battle missions are a choice of killing everything on the stage, or beating a boss. Hard mode is unlockable, and the demo has a save function so once you unlock the other modes you don't need to do it again.

Need to give this a shot. Sigma seems to fix nearly every issue I had with the original.

Sure would be nice if they released the real game on the 360 to replace the really long demo.

From what I heard the game is much easier than NG2. Master Ninja in this is easier than mentor mode in NG2. You can't charge bow UTs anymore either. It does look really fun though. Wish I could try it. Especially the new characters and the dabhilaro return.

I just got done with my first playthrough of the title the other night, and while very enjoyable it was, it was much easier then I thought a Ninja Gaiden title would ever be in my life time.

I still remember the high degree of difficulty of the original for the NES, and there was honestly nothing in Sigma 2 that came close to it.

But it is still a welcome title to the series, nonetheless, so I'm looking forward to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3 if it ever made.

And on a side note for those who have played it, was I the only one reminded of Deus from Xenogears when they saw the Archfiend first two forms?

Ninja Gaiden's Xbox and beyond entries are kind of strange, really. The first game was supposedly hard, but it was broken in that Flying Swallow killed practically everything without remorse.

It was turned into one of the game's weakest moves in Ninja Gaiden Black, and difficulty in other aspects was also turned up.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma rectified the situation by making it decimate everything again.

Ninja Gaiden 2 I've only played the demo of, but yeah it was pretty easy. I can only guess that Sigma 2 is even easier. =/

Well of course the demo of Gaiden 2 was easy Taiyz! You start with level 3 weapons on the games easiest difficulty setting! Trust me, the game is extremely hard, even borderline cheap, on the harder settings.
