Well I've been taking martial arts for a good 5 years now. And they've taught us how to disarm opponents with weapons. And suprisingly enough it seems pretty easy (not that i would try somethin like that in a real fight for no reason xD). But for someone like Senel who is mentioned alot to be a master in Martial Arts, it wouldn't be a problem for him to take down Lloyd. Now we all know that alot of Lloyds moves just comprise of wild thrusts and slashes. Senel could exploit those moves and end up disarming him via break his arm, takedowns, snaps, pressure point hits, etc. I'd say Senel hands down

So what if sonic is able to beat a senile old fat-guy with an ass so huge he has to sit in a friggin machine all day. Sonic has a hard time beating up robots, while as Goku can destroy a robot in a single blast. So the fight would go as follows:
Sonic gets into a ball and flies right for Goku's chest like a cannonball.
Goku merely catches it.
Then crushes it in between his hands.
The "blue blur" is now nothing but a "Red Stain" |

Senel has my vote. Norma would be his cheerleader on the sidelines and would force Chloe to be one too. XD

Well if we want to be cheap Lloyd would win. Why you ask? Because in the fight Lloyd would combine Flamberge and the Vorpal Sword to make the Eternal Sword and I don't care how good of a fighter Senel is (and he is great one) but you can't beat someone with the ability to control space and time.
But Lloyd wouldn't do that, it wouldn't be a fun fight then would it.
I choose Lloyd but I'd still like to see the fight though! As long as one of them doesn't die of course.

If the fight got too dangerous you know C would step in to defend her man.
Of course this would trigger Sheena to enter...and well we'd have a hell of a catfight on our hands.

Yeah even Mithos never used the Eternal Sword, if he did it'd be impossible to beat him unless some DEM got in the way.

There's a generaly misconception that "since the Eternal Sword has time and space powers, Lloyd can control time and space". When really, he doesn't know how to harness the power of it. =/
Also, Senel would bust Shining Fingers on Lloyd - and even IF Lloyd knew how to harness the full extent of the Eternal Sword (No, not using Tenshou Souhazan), he wouldn't be able to turn back time because he would NO LONGER exist!

though im not a fan of either i like polls like this. senel vs lloyd is a tough matchup to call due to the different styles used. but i shall go with senel just because he was a former marine. im guessing that gives him more experience in fighting and a bit more tougher. other than that i dunno i couldnt come up with a valid argument for either character.

tempest and the fact that demon fang clearly beats demon fist (in the senel vs chloe match her demon fangs seem to negate demon fist and keep on going IIRC) lead me to think that if it were purely as they fight in game, lloyd would win. however, I'm pretty sure that senel has a lot more in the way of knowledge as to what he's doing.

| Just out of personal preference I would say Lloyd or Luke would win in a fight (out of the "main" character guys). I haven't played many more games, but I just really don't like Senel. |

If Luke didn't have his Super Power he'd get trashed by Senel, heaven help Luke if he ever fought Yuri in a straight fight though.

Maybe we should just wait for Tales of VS and see what happens. I'd be surprised if Senel isn't put in it xD.

while I agree senel would probably win, I had a paper sword v fists fight with my fried some time back and half the time he failed to disarm me, sometimes leaving him lying on the flour, ready for a "death blow".
While I suspect senel is better at martial artes than my friend, he too has been practicing for several years.
on a side note, the kunai seens the hardest weapon to disarm, especialy when held by the ring on the end and spun in a random pattern.

I'd say Senel, having been trained by a type of military, over Lloyd, who only knows how to slash randomly and wasn't trained properly. Though Lloyd has swords, Senel is quick enough to dodge a slash and/or gaurd them with his bracers. I also say Senel because of Climax Mode, which, as anyone who knows, basically freezes all enemies of the field.

I'm sorry but that is a pretty lousy comparison. That's like saying Senel would lose to all sword users just because Sanosuke lost to Kenshin in the anime "Rurouni Kenshin" And we all know how fallacious that argument would be. In Tales and RPGs...generally, it doesn't matter if a person is using a sword or not. It's just how "strong" they are in his or her respective universe.
