Well, regardless of whether or not the rumor is true, the character designer was always assumed to be someone new since they've been keeping it under wraps.

Oh okay ^__^;

It does, the French just like to bend their rules every now and then, not unlike English (except English does it constantly)

also, French wiktionary (look at the IPA) concurs with me

Lol, I didn't even consider rule-bending. But oh well, at least I learned something =)

It's "batie".

-bad
-tie

But with a stretch on the 'ah' sound in tie.
Best I can describe it. If you want to get really implicate there's an odd 'uh' sound dragging at the end.
EDIT: Oh god ew but here

Main character's name would be pronounced "chitai", but it means zone or area, yeah.
Daughter's name would be Migan, really. Ew. It's not even Megan.

Sounds like rumour. If not I will eat my fist etc.

... If it'll sound like Conn or Gonny said, then I'd be okay with it... but "batie" is a bit... >_<;

OK I'll stop now.

hes a 19 year old hitman? that guy? i mean he seems to have a nice fighting style but seriously a hitman. If this is true i think he could stand a few lessons from agent 47.

Agreed. Music isn't all work anyway, there's always the fun in playing/composing =3this coming from a hopefully soon-to-be musician

The name means zone, a space, an area. Having the word misspelled and built upon with a completely different definition is far, far too much of a stretch. Besides, they're not even pronounced the same. You're looking for odd nothings. >_>

Also, the word is French. Even 'battle' and other such words derived from French and Latin. If it turns you away from batie, pronunciation is /ba.taj/.

I don't care what anyone says, I think PS1 ToD with the Eternia battle system sounds pretty awesome.

That being said I don't believe any of it, especially Cheegle-boo's Mysterious Dungeon.

ToD with Eternia's battle system WOULD be awesome, but a PSP port of ToDR/ToD:DC would be even more awesome.

Instead of remaking ToD PS1 with ToE's battle system, they could also just remake ToE already. <_<
