This is it right? What do you think? They kept the vocals but translated them. As far as I know its sung by the same girl who sang the Japanese version.

Yes, both the English and Japanese versions were performed by BONNIE PINK. If memory serves, the English version of the song was revealed quite some time ago, back when the theme song was first announced; I actually had heard the English one before the Japanese one...

It was, the English single was released back in April then the Japanese counterpart came out during the first days of this month.
Love the song btw, like Karma I watch the opening every time I start up the game.

I don't think so.... I remember around the time the second Japanese trailer was released, and when we learned the name of the theme song, I went looking around for it but all I could ever find was the english one..... even on Bonnie Pink's Wikipedia page, while it said that she was singing both the English and Japanese openings for the newest Tales installment, had "Ring a Bell" listed as one of her songs, not Kane wo Narashite. Only when the game was coming very close to its release was I starting to find the full recordings of the Japanese version, and did the song (listed as Kane wo Narashite) appear on Bonnie Pink's Discography

I do that with Abyss too.... I'm probably gonna do that with Vesperia if/when I get the game, the song is so pretty, I got both the Japanese and English versions on my iPod ^_^
I love the english version but sometimes I wish you could switch the languages of the opening at will on the release.

Karma was so great! XD call me crazy but when i get bored, i start up that ps2 with abyss in it..  or if i feel like the japanese version youtube's always there.. haha!

BONNIE PINK released Ring A Bell in April as a digital single, I believe her first, and then released the physical single, Kane wo Narashite(Peak: #8 Oricon iirc), in August. She performed both, and I believe she wrote the lyrics to both versions

she did a good job, too.. usually english songs by japanese singers dont 'ring bells' much.. but this one went through just great!
