That was a great (and a little bloody) chapter!! Ridus eye changed to gold so he probably has angelic blood within him!! but Athena has ether too, so... so... so I guess I will have to wait for the next chapter ha ha, HURRY UP because I can't wait.

[By the way, the preview of Athena I was about to send it today, but since I didn't have her hair ready I decided not to send her, a bald Athena!? And I also want to make a screenshot of Ridus with the aura of ether and his golden glare, I will just need the color of his ether aura]

Alright. It took me a whole week to write this chapter because I just got my Wii and I've been playing it non-stop. But I finally found time to finish it (but I warn you, it's a little short). I'm not sure when I'll be done the next one but it shouldn't be long than a week and a few days. So here is the next chapter.

Shout Out to JTblitz, the best writer in the world, and Nobody, the greatest artist in the world (and very talented writer I might add!)

Chapter 7-The Battle of Ether


A white swirling aura was around Athena. Her aura was smaller and less destructive than Ridus’, but it also seemed more controlled. “Shall we begin?” she said mockingly as if it were a practice match. She slowly pulled out an arrow from her quiver, while Ridus slowly raised his sword. His expression was still emotionless and cold.

Athena strung her arrow, and Ridus dashed towards her. She released the arrow, which zoomed at Ridus at an amazing speed, but he easily side-stepped it. He got close to her and tried stabbing, but she jumped back, trying to keep her distance while loading another 3 arrows. Ridus sheathed his sword as she released all three arrows at the same time in a horizontal line. Ridus jumped in the air, but was met with another arrow which just skidded by his cheek, leaving a red line across.

He didn’t mind it, for it was minor and landed on the ground lightly. He then quickly unsheathed his sword yelling “Demon Fang,” sending a shockwave bigger than last time towards Athena. This time, a hail of arrows poured from the shockwave, dissipating it. Ridus tried to dodge as many arrows as possible, but he was hit with several of them in his arms and legs. Nonetheless, he kept going towards her, and when the last arrow had hit him, he grabbed his sword with both hand and swung as hard as he could. Athena fending the attack off and a burst of light emerged from the clashing of the two ethers.

Athena jumped back and smiled, as Ridus was panting, taking the arrow out of his body one by one. “It really is a shame that your father died not knowing what a great swordsman you would have became.” Ridus’ expression then went from emotionless to confusion and anger.

“What the hell do you know about my dad!?” he said indignantly. The ether around him began to swirl violently, lashing out at the air around him.


“Nothing, except for the fact that you’re the on who killed him.” she said.

“What the hell are you talking about?! He died an honourable death while out on a mission!” he yelled back at her.

“Hmm. So that’s what they told you,” said smiling.

“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU KNOW?!!?” screamed Ridus, unable to hold in his anger anymore. He charged towards her and his sword met her bow. The clash created a sudden burst of ether around them. “Tell me what you know.” gritted Ridus through his clenched teeth.

“I wouldn’t do you any good to know now,” she replied. “So just be a good little boy and die so you can see your father again.” Ridus pushed her off and sent her flying back.

“I won’t be taunted by you!” he yelled running towards her. “Now die!” As he said that, he raised his sword with both hands, and the ether around him solidified around his sword, making a white blade made of ether. He swung down with all his might, and as she tried to block, his sword went right through the bow and through the flesh of her chest. Athena released a loud cry which Scarlette, Demilion, and Lauren heard. Scarlette got up and ran towards them.

Ridus stared down at the now immobile Athena, who had a big gash across her chest, blood oozing out of it creating a small pool around her. She lifted her face to meet Ridus. “You’re…not…human.” she said almost inaudibly before passing out.

“I put you out of your misery.” said Ridus, whose sword was not back to normal. The ether around him had become less destructive, but still visible to be different from any other type. He raised his sword like he was going to deliver the finishing blow, but Scarlette held his hand and he was about to swing down.

“Not now.” she said calmly. “It is unnecessary to kill her right now.”

Ridus looked at her from the corner of his eye. “What the hell do you mean its unnecessary.” he said harshly.

Scarlette flinched at his tone of voice. She had never seen Ridus like this before. “I have some things I want to ask her abut.” she said, keeping her cool.

“Nonsense.” he mumbled. He turned around and pointed his sword at Scarlette. “Get in my way, and I’ll kill you.” he said coldly. He turned back around to deal the finishing blow, but his body was paralyzed in that position. He then heard a melody from behind him as his ether began to wan. “Damn it! Why is this happening?” Once all his ether was gone, he fell to his knees, suddenly feeling exhausted. He took a look back and saw Lauren and Demilion walking towards them. Lauren was the one who was singing the melody.

Ridus tried to speak, but he couldn’t. Nothing would come out of his mouth. “Scarlette let us go to Alsace. There, we will sort everything out.” said Demilion. He whistled to call his phoenix friend Relex, and the bird came obediently beside him. He fed Relex something, which made him grow 2 sizes bigger than he originally, was. He took Ridus over his should and put him on the over grown bird. Scarlette took Athena and also put her on.

“Lauren, please heal her wounds.” said Scarlette. “We wouldn’t want her dying on us now.” Lauren gave a nod and got to work. After everything that has happened, they still continued they’re trip to Alsace. Once they land there, everything will be sorted out: Athena’s ether, Ridus’ ether, and Lauren’s mysterious song that controlled Ridus’ ether.

The fact that you used Reid and Farah techs is epic win. Demon Hammer > Tiger Blade, imo. (no Sword Rain: Omega, though? D

And lol @ me being the best writer in the worldXD! That's quite a title, thank you ^_~.

And the chapter was nice as well. I actually expected Athena to pull out in the end, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what they do with her *coughpartycough*

Here's an off topic question: I was thinking about giving a sword user in ToB Omega Demon Chaos (not Marcaas). I thought about using it's romanized (aka un-unique T_T) name, Rending Tiger Blade, but it sounds sooo lame (hate Tiger Blade xD). I just want your opinion: how does Tiger Destruction sound to you? ^^

Damn it, double post. Sorry. Finally, here is the next chapter. Also, I updated the first page. I now have an Opening and Ending THEME!! Yayyyy!!

Chapter 8-Identity Revealed


Ridus woke up, once again, in a random room. This was the third time and it was getting ridiculous. He woke up and saw Scarlette, Demilion, and Lauren sitting around a table in the center of the unusually large room. Athena, the enemy he had just defeated, was lying down in a bed across from him. He suddenly jerked himself up in sitting position, but then clutched the side of his bandaged abdomen.

“Don’t get up,” said Lauren, in a concerned voice instead of her usually cheery one. “Your wounds haven’t fully healed yet, even though I gave you some first aid.”

“Just leave him alone.” said a familiar cold voice. It was Scarlette. Ridus had just remembered what he had said to Scarlette back when he was fighting Athena.

“Scarlette, I’m-,” he began but he was cut off.

“Don’t worry about it.” she said, but she didn’t look at him. She then turned her attention to Athena, who was sitting up in her bed.

“Now, Athena, we kept you alive because we wanted to interrogate you about your knowledge on us.” she said. “Please do not make us regret our decision.”

Athena closed her eyes, and then pushed up her glasses to the bridge of her nose. “You, Scarlette Atilion and your sister are Angels, from the “glorious” land of Asgrande.” she said simply.

Demilion and Ridus had shocked expressions on their faces. “What the hell are you guys talking about? Angels?!? They don’t exist!” said Demilion frantic and skeptical to believe it.

“No, she’s telling the truth.” said Scarlette. Scarlette unzipped the back of her dress. On the center of her back was a circular metal device. She unattached the device and translucent, white wings appeared from her back.

Demilion and Ridus stared in awe. “Then…then why are you here? I thought angels were extinct after The Splitting.” said Ridus.

“After The Splitting happened, the angels happened to get a small remote island of a sort away from the rest of the world,” began Scarlette. “Ever since then, they having been planning to restore “glory” back to the race of the angels through the use of their advanced technology. But I didn’t want to be apart of it. I just wanted a peaceful life, so I left with Lauren to come the inferior continent. But how did you know?” she said, turning towards Athena and reattaching the metal device, drawing back in her wings.

“I have read a lot of the books in the library in the kingdom. They contain the history of the world, the Etheran Spirit, and Orealon himself.” said Athena.

“Even we have a lot of records on Natura on the Etheran Spirits. Most of them reside on our continent.” chimed in Demilion.

“I see. So that would explain why you guys had Orealon’s Star inside the castle. When the land split, Orealon’s Spirit was said to be lost, same with his Star. But it was really just misplaced.” continued Scarlette.

“And by Orealon’s Star, I’m assuming you are talking about the necklace you stole from the kingdom, which your little sister is wearing now?” said Athena, her tone still even and the same as before.

“Yes.” she replied. Lauren touched the pendant of the necklace around her neck. There was a pattern engraved in it. “Another question, but this time, directed to Ridus.” she said, turning around to meet his wary gaze. “Why is there a large tattoo on your back resembling the mark on the pendant?”

Ridus’ gaze turned from wary to confused. “What are you talking about?” he partially took off the bandages on his back and his eyes widened. “What the hell is this?!” he said in shock. A large black tattoo was on his back.

“We noticed it when we were bandaging you up” she said. “I don’t know why you have that, but is very similar to the mark on the pendant.”

“I don’t know why either. I have just seen it now.” said Ridus, panicked. He quickly covered the tattoo with his bandages.

Scarlette got up from her chair. “We’ll look into that later, but for now, it’s late, so everyone get some rest. Athena, we’ll decide what to do with you tomorrow. Everyone else, tomorrow we will decide where we are going next.” She motioned towards the door. She called Lauren over to come with her.

“Wait!” yelled Demilion. “I need to ask you guys something before you leave.” Scarlette turned around with Lauren.

“We’re all ears.” she said.

“What was that song Lauren sang to control Ridus’ ether? I’ve heard of manipulating ether, in fact, I can manipulate ether, but I’ve never heard of manipulating other people’s ether.”

Scarlette turned towards Lauren and put her hand on her head. “That’s a song that has been passed down in the Atilion family. Somehow, we are able to control ether with that song, some more than others.” she looked at Ridus from the corner of her eyes. “That’s all there is to it.”

“Alright.” said Demilion, reassured. “Thanks.” she nodded and left. Demilion followed suit and also left, turning off the light as he left.

Ridus laid back down in his bed. “What the hell is this?! How did I get into this?! Damn it!” He let his mind run on while he tried to go to sleep. What the hell was happening? A tattoo he’s never seen before on his back now. Angels that he had learned only in books and that were supposed to be extinct are now real and traveling with him. All he wanted was some time to escape from all of it. Sleep would do that, even if only for a little while.

Ridus woke up and looked out the window. It seemed that is was now a bit after midnight and he had only got a few hours of sleep before he woke up again. He tried moving out of his bed, and his healed body allowed him to do so. He walked towards the door, but stopped when he heard a noise. He quietly opened the door a slight bit so that he could see outside the room. Scarlette was walking outside her room towards the door outside. What was she doing going outside at a time like this. He slowly went out and followed her. When he got to the front, he saw her sitting outside on the stairs. He went outside to see what she was doing.

“Who’s there?” she questioned to the person behind her.

“It’s me.” said Ridus.

She looked back to see it was Ridus, and then to the sky. “What are you doing out here at this time?” he said nervously, sitting down beside her.

“I couldn’t sleep, so I went outside for a bit.” she said, keeping he eyes fixed on the stars in the sky.

“Oh.” he said. “About what happened when I was fighting-.” he began.

“Like I said before, don’t worry about.” she said. “It wasn’t your fault you couldn’t control your ether.”

“But still, if I can’t control it, then how am I supposed to fight with everyone else? I’ll just be a burden.” he replied.

“Then learn to control it.”

“How?”

“I’ll teach you.”

Ridus had a surprised look on his face. “Really?”

“Yeah, as long as you don’t give up on me.” she said smirking.

She stood up in front of him. She made her hands into a bowl and closed her eyes. Slowly, white ether began to gather in her hand in the form of a small ball. “This is an exercise that helps with controlling ether.”

“How do you do it?” he asked, intrigued by the small ball of light in her hands.

“Easy, like this.” she let the ball dissipate and grabbed his hands and made it into a bowl for him. “Now concentrate on the space in between your hands. Focus all of your energy in that area.” Ridus tried focusing the energy in his hands. Suddenly, blue light burst from his hands, creating a bigger ball than Scarlette’s, and less stable. Scarlette then slapped him in the back of his head. The light disappeared quickly and Ridus rubbed the back of his head.

“Oww. Why’d you hit me?” he said, still rubbing the spot where she hit him.

She giggled before answering him. “I had to break your concentration in order for it to stop.” She turned around towards the door. “Keep practicing that exercise randomly and you’ll be able to control it better. When you’re ready, we’ll go to the next step.” She walked back inside the inn. Ridus looked at his hands.

He was happy he had got this chance to talk with Scarlette. Everything was sorted out, and she even offered to help him to control his ether. He looked up at the stars shining brightly in the dark night. Maybe everything will be alright. Scarlette seems like a good person at heart. Maybe things won’t be as bad as they seem.

And how is that Ridus has a tatoo on his back? He probably went to some kind of wild party and now he doesn't remember where he got that tatoo

And now that Athena has become her prisioner then I guess she was forced to be in their party, Work hard Athena to win your freedom!
