Ok. I decided to post this chapter to keep you guys interested while I'm gone on my short hiatus(Sorry for the double post). Hope you enjoy. Some comedy in this so I hope you guys enjoy.

Chapter 4-The Unknown Journey

Ridus woke up once again, this time in a plain field with few trees. He was laid against one tree and saw Scarlette leaning against the other. “Oh, you woke up earlier this time.” she snorted. “Are you ready to go?” she asked.

“Go where? I have to go back to the kingdom. I have to find out what’s going on?” he said, sounding desperate.

“We’re going to Cuire. I have a friend there that we’ll meet up with. And you can’t go to back to the kingdom. They will only kill you on the spot if you go back there.”

“But I don’t understand why!” yelled Ridus, clearly frustrated.

“Because, you are a human that is able to use ether. Humans are usually not good at using ether, but you on the other hand, are able to use it. It is a frightening power to most of them.” Ridus sat there quietly, thinking about what to say. “We should start going. If we hurry, we should reach there by late evening since it’s the morning. She started walking off through the field. Ridus followed suit, but walked a bit behind, contemplating on what to do now with his life.

They were almost at Cuire and got there a bit earlier than expected. Ridus still could not find anything to do with his life. He had always found being a knight so interesting since he was a child, and when he finally becomes one, he is chased out of the kingdom for a reason he not even he knows why. It would be a while before he thought of something.

The town of Cuire wasn’t like the kingdom at all. There were a fair bit of people, but most of them were at shops selling various food supplies. The town was quite big, but only because half the space was taken up by farming land. There was a medium sized building in the near distance which looked like an inn. Scarlette turned towards Ridus. “Okay, I need to go by some things, so you go to the inn and rent us a room. Make sure it is room 317.” she said in an unusually nice tone.

“Okay, but what are you going to buy?” he asked.

“A few items for dinner. You haven’t eaten since last night, have you?”

Ridus hadn’t noticed his stomach growling until now. He hadn’t eaten since last night, and on top of that, the fight yesterday drained most of his energy. “Alright.” he said. He walked towards the inn.

As he entered the inn, he saw small girl standing at the counter. “Um, excuse me? Has anyone checked into room 317 yet?” she asked in a cheery tone.

“Sorry little lady,” said the desk clerk. “Not as of yet.” he said.

“Ohhhhh damn. What’s taking her so long?” she said to herself. Ridus came beside the young girl and talked to the desk clerk.

“Hello. Could I please stay in room 317?” he asked. The girl beside him perked up, listening to the conversation.

“100 Gald a night.” he said. Ridus reached in his back pocket, but found no money in there. “Damn it. Scarlette forgot to give me money to rent the room.” he said out loud to himself.

“The girl then threw 10 gold coins on the desk. “Here, I’ll pay for his room.” she said smiling.

“Thank you,” said Ridus. “But why did you pay for me?” he asked.

“Because you know Scarlette.” she said happily. “I’m Lauren, Scarlette’s little sister.”

Scarlette walked through the door of the rent room. Lauren ran up to her and hugged her tight, making her drop all the items she bought. “Scarlette! I was starting to get worried about you. How come you didn’t tell me you were bringing company over?” she said with her hands at her sides.

“It just sort of happened.” she said smiling. Ridus had never seen her smile since she had been with her. She looked over at Ridus and walked towards him, who was standing in the corner. “So I see you’ve met my little sister, Lauren.” she said.

“Yeah. She is unbelievably cheery all the time, like you.” he said sarcastically.

“Yeah, whatever.” she said walking to pick up the fallen items. She carried them over to the counter top near the stove. “Lauren, could you come cook dinner, I need to get change.” she said.

“Alrighty sis.” she said. She ran to the counter and began preparing the food. Scarlette walked over to the bedside and removed her tunic. Ridus’ eyes couldn’t help but wander towards Scarlette. Under her tunic she wore small tank top that revealed her belly and had a bit of cleavage. Ridus couldn’t help but stare at her. He didn’t notice how voluptuous she actually was. Scarlette finally noticed Ridus watching her.

“Why are you looking at me change, pervert.” she said gruffly. Ridus’ face quickly turned red and he turned his eyes away. He walked towards the door and opened.

“I’ll be waiting outside. Tell me when your done.” he said sheepishly. He walked outside the door and laid against it. He gave a loud sigh. He never knew that Scarlette had a sister, but then again, he didn’t know much about her anyway. Her sister seemed to be the only thing that made he smile. He smiled as he thought about it.

Suddenly the door swung open and Ridus fell back, banging his head on the ground. “I’m done.” she said simply. Ridus could help but notice that his head was in-between Scarlette’s legs. He almost saw up her shorts, when she moved her legs and stepped on his face. “Your really are a pervert aren’t you?” she asked, rubbing her foot in his face.

“No, it—was---by—accident.” he muffled, trying to speak without getting her foot in his mouth.

“Dinner is ready!” yelled Lauren. She took her foot off and walked over to table. Ridus got up and quickly wiped his face before also taking a seat at the table. There was a large piece of steak on all three plates with noodles in a bowl beside them. Ridus chowed down his food hungrily. He was so glad he had finally gotten something to eat.

“While we’re all here,” started Scarlette. “I would like to say, me and my sister will be leaving tomorrow for Alsace. What do you intend to do?” she asked seriously. Ridus still hadn’t figured out himself what he was planning to do himself.

“If it’s okay, I would like to keep traveling with you guys,” he said. “I need sometime to think about what I‘m going to, now that I can’t go back to the kingdom.”

“Yayyyy!!!” yelled Lauren. “Ridus is coming with us!!!”

“That’s alright with me, just don’t be deadweight in battle if we get into any on our way there.” she said.

“Don’t worry about me.” he said smirking. At least traveling with them will give him time to think about what he should do. “Oh yeah, by the way, what did you steal from the castle anyways? And what was that weird thing you used to get us out of that battle?” said Ridus.

Scarlette finished swallowing her food before she responded. “Some necklace hanging in the hallway to the audience chamber.” she said smiling. “I steal all kinds of stuff and sell them, but sometimes I keep them just for show. Here Lauren, you can have this one.” She reached in the bag beside the table and threw it at her.

“Thanks big sis!” she exclaimed, obviously ecstatic about getting the necklace. She put it around her neck and let it hang loosely.

“She risked her life just for an old necklace?!?” thought Ridus to himself. “What a daring girl.”

“And that thing I used back there to get us out of there was called a flash bomb. I used my last one back there.”

“Where did you get it from?” he asked. He had never heard of any sort of technology like that.

“Back from my home.”

“Where’s your home?”

“You ask too many questions. I’ll tell you when I’m ready.” she said curtly.

“Fine.”

Ridus pushed his empty plate in front of him and got up from the table. “Well, I’m beat so I’m going to get some rest.” said Ridus.

“Alright.” said Scarlette.

“Good night!” said Lauren, with not an ounce of fatigue in her voice. He walked towards one of the beds and laid down. He slowly closed his eyes and began to think. He had to search for a new life, but what would it be? Only time could tell.

Another lesson for Ridus, don't underestimate your opponent.

And about the clip, I believe I told you before that once someone works on something he or she likes it becomes easy, if I didn't want to make a clip, I wouldn't have suggested it.

OMGOSHHH!! I watched it and I loved it!!! That was soo good Nobody. I never knew you knew how to do those kinds of things with simple graphics. You should be a computer animator or something and work for Namco Bandi. I swear it. Thank you soooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
