For some reason, the Music forum loads *very* slowly whenever I try to make a post. Only does it there --- works speedily everywhere else.
Has anyone else had this issue? |

I think Now Playing shouldn't be allowed anyway, or atleast not be a sticky. It's very uninteresting, adds little to nothing towards discussion, and is pretty much just a topic to pick up some posts.

I never would have noticed it if it weren't for this thread pointing it out. Mostly because I don't pc++ because that's pretty much all that Now Playing is good for.
But yeah, the thread does load slower.

Now Playing is a pc++ thread and last time I pointed that out it was shot down with the argument "people can compare their musical tastes to others this way". Needless to say I doubt people really do that, and could easily do so with the help of threads that promote actual discussion.

um. it would get the same amount of attention as a normal topic... if you haven't noticed, it gets a post about every 10 minutes...
maybe lowering it to something like "your song of the day" to lessen posts... also, i find now playing to be a topic that could introduce you to several types of music at one time.

I never said it doesn't get attention. I said it's uninteresting, adds little to nothing towards an actual discussion, and is pretty much just a topic to pick up posts towards to post count. Christ, I'm repeating what's written right in front of you.

I think that's a pretty lame excuse. It's full of pages of nothing but what a person is listening to. i'm pretty sure most people don't even read the posts, they just click "post", write what theyre listening to and leave the thread. There are lots of different threads you guys could create which could have way more discussion.
I think, in general, the music forum could be wayyy better, but no one's really been making an effort to start a discussion or to get other people into bands. Maybe we should have a "Recommendations" thread where people could recommend bands to people or something. That would atleast be a little better than Now Playing.

Now Playing *really* lags bad (takes 15-20) seconds to load a post, and I've noticed less, but still noticeable lag, on other threads.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's because of Now Playing, to be honest, since every other area loads fine for me. |

well, what you said about not making it a sticky had almost no meaning, because, like i said, it gets a post about every ten minutes.
people do make an effort to discuss bands, its just that if its not a topic by Cyke or Thinger, it usually turns out to be "OMG YOU FAIL FOR LIKING THIS MUSIC." and don't say that i'm not right, because that is what happens.
also, before anyone decides "oh hes probably referring to his topics", I AM NOT...
