Derris Kharlan!
When stepping onto the Derris Emblem, the 6 party members appeared on the slab, as usual. Everyone started to say their lines. Nothing out of the ordinary at first, but then...

After Kratos said his lines, there was the familiar teleporting sound, though you saw nothing. Keep in mind that at that time, Kratos had overwritten Colette, and not Regal.

Yes, all that time Colette remained stuck in the Derris Emblem. I couldn't pass her, because Lloyd would start whining. So I had no choice but to continue on my quest to save Zelos. After saving the idiot chosen and teleporting back, though, Colette had disappeared.

Oh, look, there she is! In the trap! How'd she get there?

After releasing everyone from their traps, I found that Kratos was still gone. Kratos was not one of the people trapped, so logically he could not be freed to be returned to the party.
Hence, it was cheat time again. Bye bye, Regal.
Then, after doing the Vinheim puzzle, I went to see Mithos.

Oh, phew, thank Martel. Zelos took a step forward and now the world is right again.

This was a bit weird though. When they teleported into Mithos' throneroom, Zelos and Kratos were once again fused and walking forward together. After the camera zoomed on Yggdrasill, and the crystal left Zelos to reawaken Yggy, Kratos had suddenly vanished. Damn...

Some Sheena sidequests. When Seena and Lloyd went to the isle of decision, Kratos was not left in the party like usual. Too bad. I would've loved to kick Kuchinawa's ass with Kratos.
After waking up chief Igaguri, however, there is that camp scene. Here, Kratos IS in your party.

This is what happened when I entered the coliseum. See someone missing in this list?
That's right. Zelos. However, when choosing the Kratos option, Zelos is the one who enters the coliseum.
What's even more peculiar is that when the list of characters appears, it's almost like two lists appear. For almost a fraction of a second, you see a box appear, which is immediately overwritten by this one. Weird.

ooo. i assumed you already had it, that would be why you didnt give me that one in the pm...lol.
Still its a brilliant site. i only wish theyre was a test map for the PAL version. Theyre must be a hacker out there somewhere who did it!!

@_@ I've been working with that map modifier. Why else to you think I've been in several weird areas?? My sound JUST got fixed (Along with several of my programs getting WIPED. UGH, I can't find anything!!), so I'll have videos up by tomorrow (hopefully..) of some of the areas. And I'd really appreciate it, Meowzy, if you'd leave the map modifier stuff to me. ^^; I haven't touched it in a while, but it's important to me.

Kyasarin - Youve mentioned this map modifier a few times, what is it? and what can it do Very Happy. im getting all curious.
I cant wait to get the american version off this game.

The exit modifier works exactly like the testfields. (That's how they're accessed. Testfield_02 is exit 221, I think.) The only difference is that the location will change. I've been exposed to this type of stuff before, so I've got a general idea how it works. If we had the type of hackers and programmers on our fanbase that Zelda64 has, we'd be able to do this very simply, but it's a bit more complicated...

I've got mapped exits from 000-08F and 100-122 done with some help from a friend who has dropped out of the project. I'm currently looking for someone else to help me in it, and if Meowzy wants to, she's hired. XD I just need to get back on my feet. (Very disoriented from switching computers.)

I have no idea what this 'map modifier' thing is, and how it works. So... Eh... I'm not going to get involved.
The image modifier, however, does sound interesting. Is that the same thing?

all this time i was thinking it was the character slot modifier but obviously not. lol

Exit modifier works the same way as the testfield codes. You go to the beginning of a map and press Z, and it warps you to the map number. It's kind of similar to the Zelda debug rom with the list of maps. It makes the game think you just went through a point that had exit data connected to it, and puts you in the map that the exit leads to. (Character model will be standing in the default place, which could be anywhere depending on what map)

This means that you can get to almost any map in the game. (even beta ones if the data is complete enough.) This includes maps that were only for cutscenes, maps that were a one-time-only thing like camp grounds, and normal maps that you can normally access. This is why I've got pictures from the mana cannon room, and Heimdall at night.

The image modifier, I'm not experienced with, nor have I ever used it successfully. It's NOT the slot modifier, and anything I say here, I'm only guessing at.

The image modifier only changes the model that's used for a certain character. As far as I know, this works with playable characters ONLY. This means if you change Lloyd's image to Colette, when you select Lloyd as the on-screen character, it'll be Colette instead. The character model will NOT move like Colette, and will instead behave like Lloyd. (She will walk more like a guy.) In battle, Lloyd-gone-Colette will not move normally either. She'll move oddly, but will attack like she's Lloyd. The actual Colette will move normally, though.

Like I said though, I'm only guessing. It can be a temporary thing until we've got a slot modifier, if you don't care that Kratos or Zelos will fight like someone else. XD

So... We could have Zelos skip around like Colette? XD
Or have Regal walk around with a hand on his hip like Kratos? XD XD

Also, with the map modifier, can you change your on-screen character to, say, Yuan in the Test Field, and then warp to some other location?
Also, can you leave that location then?

I'm not sure. I've seen a couple videos of the image modifier being used (Not many people understand how to use it, so it's rare to see.), and in SOME cases, the character walks VERY oddly. Like with Presea's image being changed to Regal, Regal will walk very weirdly and sharply. Like a dramatic army walk. Since I haven't used it myself, I can't predict how anyone will walk.. Once I know how to use it, I'll test and list how each character reacts.

Hahah! AHHhahah! XD Man, if you can remember during the time that I was coming off-and-on to the Yuan fanclub, I actually tried that! I even wrote a little one-shot about it AND wrote the actual results on it, but... no one even acknowledged what I was doing. :/ Basically just a "yeah, that's nice, now go away".

When I'd tried it, it failed. I changed to Yuan's model, tried warping to Palmacosta, and I ended up stuck in the fence. (Ever end up stuck inside a wall or object in a game? Yeah, like that.) And not only that, but the character model reverted back to Kratos (who I had originally as the on-screen character), so... it was a failure. :( Doesn't work.

Hi everyone, I've got a question.

When I tried out the "Character Mod" cheats, I always get stuck in walls (Meltoikio colosseum), fences (Meltoikio entrance) or even counters XD (Meltoikio inn). If I save on the field, everything is normal but if I go to a town, I'll get stuck again. What I am doing wrong? Do I have to start a new game? BTW, I have the PAL version.

Character mod cheat...
You mean the one where you can have a certain character in your party, like I did with my Kratos playthrough? Or do you mean the image modifier cheat Kya described?
