Why can't they just keep the japanese version intact as a "hidden" feature (grade shop purchase?) while having the English one as the default? Two birds, one stone?
Personally, I have the same reaction to "English versions" OPs as I do to dubbing in general. It just doesn't feel right. The timings never seem to match up to the animation. And I'm not picking on JPN->ENG anime stuff, have you ever tried watching the Simpsons in another language? Holy crap, what a nightmare.
I appreciated that Abyss at least kept the basic song, I even liked the guitar replacement. Someone combined the JPN and ENG OPs together and I thought that came out really well.
I wish Tales games came like Disgaea. Come with both JPN and ENG audio so that I at least have a choice in how my ears are assaulted. |

It's because they'd have to buy the rights to the original song again. Which they don't want to do because the series doesn't sell particularly well here. We're lucky we even got that instrumental version of Karma for Abyss. |

| Ya know, it'd suck if they took out the ending song. I personally like that one more than the opening one. But they definately would take that out too if they take out the opening song. |
