"ALIVE"
(there are 2 different mangas out there with the same title. XD Make sure you ckeck for the one that's of the mystery genre. It's kinda ecchi though (not really). Just because it's shounen manga y'know. But the story itself is really good. It's about a weird case of suicides and murders that rose up all over the world at the same time. The genres stated are mystery, horror, shounen, and supernatural.)

Steam Detectives (One of those classics like Detective Conan. They have both the anime and the manga. I read/watch both. They're both REALLY popular. The anime especially because of the nice music. The episodes are never too short. There's a new mystery to be solved in each one. It's about a kid-genius detective named Narutaki who solves mysteries in a city that runs on steam. He gets by with the help of his butler, a nurse named Ling-Ling, and a steam robot named Goriki. )

xXXHOLiC (For those who haven't read it yet, you should!!! IT's by CLAMP. The genre is classified as shounen and mystery. It's about a boy named Watanuki who can see spirits and supernatural things from other worlds. For some reason they all want to eat him! So he stops by a shop that grants wishes to ask for these weird abilities of his to be removed. The owner of the shop is Yuuko and she never gives things without taking an exact equal amount in return. Business is business! So the story moves on about Watanuki's adventures as he tries to pay back the amount of debts he owes and trying to "survive" in the mean time.)
- The storyline goes side by side with "Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles". Also made by CLAMP. You pretty much have to read both of them to understand some things.

Detective Conan
(Probably even more famous than the Prince of Tennis! A legendary anime/manga series just about every anime fan has heard or seen before. It has a nice art style but has that classic feel to it, yeah! Like Steam Detectives, it is also very popular for its massive amount of great music. There are plenty of movies out there of the series too (OMG, you wouldn't believe how many...). It's about a young detective planning to be the next Sherlock Holmes of his time. Until one night he witnessed a crime scene of a major gang. They captured him and drugged him in hopes of killing him, but instead it shrunk him into a kid! He now lives with a young girl (his former classmate and best friend) and her father who's head detective (but not all too good at it) while hiding his identity from both of them and everyone else. With the love for solving mysteries, he can't help but solve the cases her father takes; but if he gets caught, not just his life, but the life of all his friends will be in danger.)

Death Note
(You've heard me mention this so many times already!!! It's about a boy named Light Yagami who happens to be a genius and the son of a detective. He comes across a black book that a shinigami named "Ryuk" dropped in the human world. With the black note book he now has the power to kill people just by knowing their face and name. Overwhelmed by such power, he now aims to rid the world of all criminals and take over as supreme ruler and decides to go under the alias as a person named "Kira". With the police, the government, special detectives, and even his own father on his trail; this won't be easy... Ryuk by his side (but not doing much) he tries to unravel hidden secrets and abilities of the book known as the "Death Note". )
- The series is made by the artist & creator(s) of "Hikaru no Go".

Rozen Maiden
(Not really mystery, but supernatural. It reminds me a lot about xXXHOLiC which is why I decided to mention it. It's about a smart boy who has secluded himself from everyone and never wants to leave his house. He looks somewhat like Watanuki from my opinion. He has his older sister to take care of him in place of his parents, but he hates her! He likes collecting weird things and buys them off the net. One night, he saw they were selling this weird life-like doll that resembles a little girl. He decides to buy it! But when he gets it, this doll becomes alive! And now it wants him to devote his life to her and help her in some kind of battle tournament! With her bossy and somewhat "cruel" attitude she is nothing but trouble for this helpless boy. But he decides he has no choice but to go along with it. The winner of this tournament gets to be something called "Alice". The art is really nice and the story is pretty funny. It's for all ages so it's safe to read no matter how old you are. I think it's by "Peach-Pit"! <3)

Fruits Basket (-.-; Surprised to see this hear are you? Well believe it or not it's IN the mystery genre. It was supposed to be in horror as the artist claimed but it was put in "Comedy/Mystery/Supernatural". Anyway, it's a story about a young girl named Tohru Honda who is too kind. Too weak. And too stubborn. She's trying to deal with the loss of her mother by completing high school. But her family hates her and her mother and wants nothing to do with her! All she has is her sick grandpa. One day by the most awkward of consequences she's taken in to live with a family filled with remarkably good-looking people. The "Sohma" family. But they have a hidden secret that she accidentally stumbles upon. They all transform into animals of the Zodiac when hugged by that of the opposite gender. The series is really popular because of the suspense, the comedy, the art and so many other good stuffs. Even if you never want to hold a shojo manga or see a shojo anime, you'll regret not giving this a try.)

Alichino (A story about various cases forming around "beautiful" creatures who promise to grant wishes named the "Alichino". However, many are mislead and get the wrong idea. Though they promise to grant wishes they actually devour your soul in return. But everyone keeps calling them "angels"?! The horrible truths behind the Alichino are kept secret from many. The plot revolves around a young man named "Tsugiri" who often gets mistaken for an Alichino (the very things he despises) because of his beautiful face. )

D.Gray-Man (I'm not sure what this genre is, but it follows out like a mystery genre. It's in "Supernatural" though. It's about a boy named Alan who's father was killed. He was lied to by a weird man (who wasn't human I believe) who told him that he could bring his father back to life. He succeeded but his father was brought back as a monster. Having to suffer instead of being able to rest in peace, he cursed his son's arm making it "hideous"? It actually as a power that helps him to defeat some inhuman beings named ( >.> uh.. I forgot. I'm doing this by memory people...).)
- The series is by the artist and creators of "Fullmetal Alchemist". No, duhh... >.>

Claymore (Actually, I don't know the exact genre of the series, but I've read 3 volumes of it. So basing on that I guess... There's not much that's really mysterious about it, but it does have its secrets. It mostly falls in "action" and "shonen". Duh, it's hosted by shonen jump. Anyway, the story is about a woman named Clare and her life as a monstrous being named a "Claymore". She works for a mysterious company that sends out these Claymores to rid places of monsters that takes the faces and forms of human beings they've killed or possessed. And they have to be paid quite a hefty price for their work too. It's really good. I know girls are sometimes turned off by shonen genre stuff because of the ecchi. But this isn't ecchi, just violent! =D It's really good and actually boosts "girl power"!! Having you think sometimes that it'd be shojo. But it isn't. Give it a try!)

Invader Zim (I can't believe I almost forgot to add this when it was this series who inspired me to make the club in the first place. It isn't anime, but it's a pretty cute (more like weird & at most times sickening) series in America about an alien boy who came from outer space and landed on earth with the full intention of destroying it. They give it on Nicktoons and MTV{late at night and super early in the morning}. Zim is a young {stupid} alien who wants to become an invader. He's of the "Irkan" race. A race of aliens who solely live for invading and find themselves superior. To prove himself to his leaders, "The Tallest", he is sent to earth to live under disguise as a human along with his "SIR UNIT" named Gir who disguises himself in a dog suit. {the thing dancing in my sig} Along the way he has to deal with a meddlesome human named "Dib" who's into the paranormal. But no one ever believes him. He seeks to protect the earth from invasion and to someday be recognized for his heroics.
It's a funny series that was originally removed from Nickelodeon because of its gruesome violence. It was moved to Nicktoons and it's still there!)
- Dib's favorite TV show that he watches throughout the series is called "Mysterious Mysteries". Thus the title of the club. =)

Vampire Knight (A shojo manga. No!! Don't be turned off yet all you guys out there!! This series is very popular because of the art style which is amazingly good and of course the fact that it's a good vampire story!
It's about a girl named Yuuki who was saved by a pure-blood vampire named Kaname Kuran and doesn't remember anything before that time. She was adopted by a man who wants to build a world where people and vampires can be treated equally and co-exist with each other. Soon after Yuuki came, a young boy named Zero who came from a family of Vampire Hunters {killed vampires for a living} was also adopted and taken in by this man. But because of his deep hatered of vampires, he has trouble getting along. The man who adopted them {Principal Cross} opened a school where humans and vampires are split into 2 different classes. Day class for humans; Night class for vampires.
Zero and Yuuki are assigned as prefects {guardians a lot like hall monitors} to keep the peace in the school grounds as well as keep the fact that all of night class are vampires a secret. As the story progresses, the true intentions of the vampires are slowly being unraveled.)


Abara
When a creature attacks the city, a man with strange powers reluctantly stands to fight... but a shadowy government organization has unfinished business with him.

Abara is set in a dystopian world, filled with large structures. The story revolves around creatures known as Gaunas, Gaunas are people who can shape bone like armor and weaponry around themselves through transformation. The transformation begins around the spine and then shapes layered armor. The story focuses on one such Gauna known as Kudou Denji (though he uses Itou Denji as a fake name earlier).

Remember that plague you learned about in history class? Well, it's back, ready to infect hordes of people! Follow Nagasawa, a melodramic student caught in the middle of this horrid epidemic, with absolutely no idea what's going on, trying to get through life with infected people all about. Can you say creepy?

I plan on downloading on my spare time. <3 Then I'll judge whether it's for the faint of heart or not. It probably isn't though... but who knows, yeah?!


Crossbone Detectives

This is a one volume manga by the same author as Worldend Fairytale, Maki Hakoda.
(received from Baka-Updates) - This one is actually mystery. People say it's good, but I've never read it. I'll give it a try though. =3 The manga has been completely scanlated and is available for download.


Arcana Soul

Chou Shinri Genshou Nouryokusha Nanaki
After being hit by a car, strange things begin to happen around Nanaki Shunsuke. He is eventually approached by another young man named Ao, who tells Nanaki that he has been sending Ao his telepathic "voice," and that the accident seems to have awakened some sort of supernatural powers within Nanaki.

Though less than enthusiastic about the idea, Nanaki eventually agrees to join LOCK, The Paranormal Investigations Agency, and partner up with Ao to investigate various cases dealing with the supernatural. However, Nanaki's powers are rather unstable, and Ao seems to have some reason to carry a great mistrust and annoyance for his new partner, making Nanaki's days in his new position a rather trying ordeal. But as they work alongside one another in their pathetically understaffed branch of LOCK, the two find ways they might manage to keep working together, perhaps even without getting the other killed in the process.

Coyote Ragtime Show
XD It's actually "Action / Sci-Fi". But I decided to put it here because the show actually performs like your average mystery show! To be honest, I was a bit surprised to see it wasn't classified as mystery. Anyway, the story is about a man named "Mister" (Mr.) who is what's called a coyote "space pirate". His close friend died trying to protect his daughter and treasure that he received after pulling off the biggest heist in history. Mr. & his crew is entrusted with the treasure and his friend's little daughter. He now tries to protect them and gain access to the treasure while keeping Marciano's 12 from killing or capturing them and reaching it first. It's a new series licensed under ADV Films. Both the anime and manga are released. And yes, I watch the anime and it's COOL!!!

But now they say that students from schools all over america are sending death threats and plan on killing people just like the asian guy!
Is this some kind of cult or something? What do you think is going on?
