Tales games have always been on whichever system of the applicable type/generation was most popular for RPGs, which is sometimes a Nintendo system and sometimes not. The only exception to this is that ToS was released for GC about a year before it was released for PS2, which caused a couple hundred thousand Japanese people to go out and buy a GameCube when they wouldn't have otherwise. |
I hate when people say that. Sony consoles hold the majority of the Tales games, even when you include the remakes and ports.
| Bladesmage_Gcn wrote: | All those names suck, to be honest
-Tales of Harmonia (Sounds like something people will mistake for the Symphonia sequel)
-Tales of the Abyss (About the only non-stupid sounding name)
-Tales of Mirage(suck)
-Tales of Justice(Lloyd'll hate it. I'll hate it. We'll all hate it!)
-Tales of Honesty (being honest is for chumps)
-Tales of Truthia (see above, but replace being honest with telling the truth) |
At least none of those are as bad a something like Tales of Lovia, if they TMed that, I would just have to laugh XD. Those do suck. Although I think Harmonia and Abyss sound like they could be really good names. |
Even if there arent any tales games for the GC after symphonia everyone will just be playing ps2 tales games. There is no such thing as betrayel. Because the tales series has been put on the Playstation 2 and its predessesor. Maybe they'll make Legendia for GC maybe they wont but if they do it'll please people who have trouble getting used to controls like me. _________________ Lloyd Irving: Give me your name, and I shall give you mine! |

| this is a bit of a late response..as I just found out this site existed when reading my Tales of Legendia manual thing, but does this mean that the Tales of Destiny remake probolly won't be released over here?...I hope I'm wrong with that, because I started playing my copy of the game for PS1, and it's feeling kinda clunky compared to Legendia...That and I really want to play that remake. that and I'd really like to hear what kind of voice they'd get for the Swordians... |

Being realistic, considering it's the end of the Playstation 2's lifecycle, the fact that it hasn't even been released in Japan yet, and the fact that the tales series isn't as popular over here, I doubt it. Mainly just because it may be overlooked. I would REALLY love to see this game come over here though, just because I never had the chance to play the original Tales of Destiny. I most certainly would pick up a copy. I'd also love to see Tales of Eternia for PSP (minus the darn Volt Glitch in Ubisoft's copies), but that's besides the point.
I was reading some of the 2005 posts in this thread and I can't help but feel things have changed. Tales seems to be becoming more widely known. I know I rant and rave about the games to all my real life friends AND I got my roommates sucked into the games. I really feel that Tales of Symphonia was the "Final Fantasy VII" of the Tales series(i.e. I brought many new people to the series, including myself), even if on a smaller scale. I notice that many more people seem to know of the Tales of the Abyss release and I notice a lot more of my friends have been picking up tales games. That being said, even though the past games may never make it here, I still feel that namco will support future tales games. (Even though there has been no official announcement, I have a feeling the DS Tales will be making its away over here.)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but other than the DS title, Namco is currently not working on any new tales games are they? (I don't consider the Tales of Destiny remake new due to the fact that is simply a facelift of a PS1 game.) |

I've heard that Namco withdrew it's rights on the title Tales of Rebirth from America. If it's true, we can say good bye to Rebirth ;_; ... _________________ ...^ ^

it's funny that Namco would release Tales of Legendia here instead of Tales of Rebirth...
It makes no sense at all... |

Yes it makes. ToR has 2D sprites(except for the world map). ToL has no sprites, so it can be taken as 3D. _________________ [My youtube videos] |

In the January 2007 issue of NewtypeUSA, Tales of Phantasia is listed in the January DVD New Releases section. It's also listed in the Anime News Network Encyclopedia here...
>>; I apologize if everybody knew that already, but that means it's not really a rumor anymore... right? _________________ "You know that tongue twister, 'She sells seashells by the seashore'? Why is she selling them right there on the seashore? She should sell them somewhere else!" |

and that means?
if your thinking about the Sony - 2D thingy, such thing doesn't exist.
If your thinking that 3D is for more sales,I understand but I think they should've brought Tales of Rebirth for us tales fans. _________________

Namco only brings sprite-less Tales over here because "no one" cares for Sprites already. All those fan-boys hate sprites. Bringing sprite-less Tales over here would be the best, or they would sell less than Legendia did, probably _________________ [My youtube videos] |
