| Oh yes, I see my mistake now. I forgot it was the other way around... I meant ToS as prequel to ToP, and *Phantasia isn't really a continuance to anything in relation to story plot... Sorry, sorry for the confusion! *half brain dead* ;_; |

Ages and ages ago, I remember hearing something to the effect that Symphonia was Phantasia's moon or the other way around. Something like that could be equated to a bad translation maybe *shrugs*

[Highlight me] Tethe'alla and Sylvarant are Aselia's moons, if I recal correctly

She was probably referring to gogs' post; at the very least, the two games are in the same universe, but Tales of Symphonia isn't necessarily a prequel... |
What are the other possibilities?
It's a sequel (takes place after ToP)? Or it takes place at the same time? Considering there's a character in ToP who comes into existence for the first time during ToS (and various other issues of the same kind), I think it's safe to assume ToS is before ToP.
Or maybe ToS's writers used ToP's universe but pretended like the events in ToP never happened? That's pretty weird, and I don't see a single thing to suggest that's what they did. (The plot holes everyone's quick to point out are all universe stuff too, so erasing ToP's history wouldn't erase the plot holes.)
Or it takes place on different planets in the same universe? Then why are those two different planets almost exactly the same, with related history, etc? How did the characters and one-of-a-kind items who appear in both games jump from one planet or the other?

The definition of "prequel" is a work whose story/narrative takes place before that of a preexisting work (or a sequel, sometimes). ToS takes place before ToP.
The two stories aren't about the same conflict or the same events, but when stories do that, they're usually called "Part 1 and Part 2," not "prequel and sequel" (with some exceptions).
ToS basically sets the stage for ToP and gives some distant backstory.

Sylvarant and Tethe'alla are the names of ToP's moons, but they're not the same as the two half-worlds in ToS. ToS explains how that name situation happened. The moons were named after the worlds.

Ah ok, I see where you're coming from. Though I think "prequel and sequel" and "part 1 and part 2" intertwines a lot. It's a bit confusing really... I suppose I should look more into the story or something next time. I find it odd though, not many people mention that ToS is a prequel to ToP. I've only heard that it gives "vague connections" to both worlds... Odd. I didn't actually think the stories were related at all by the sounds of it.
(Really sorry. I'm only starting to learn about the Tales series, so bare with my stupidity. >_<) |

Cyllya, I think you can also add the information to Tales of Commons and the names of other characters in Tales of the Abyss. Also, you might want to consider alter the About English Releases note a bit...

Where can i find it ? you say its tales of destiny 2 here right..? if so it doesnt really resemble toe.. i mean they change the characters and all in TOE PSP right ?
hm and one other thing ... i saw somewhere that TOE is between TOS and TOP right ? or im i mistaken.. |

Tales of Eternia is called Tales of Destiny II in North America; Tales of Destiny 2 is a completely different game than Tales of Eternia. You're probably only going to find it at used game stores now...

Tales of Eternia has nothing to do with Tales of Symphonia or Tales of Phantasia...

well i am new here =p but i have a questiong i have ToP, ToD, ToE and ToS
do i have al the Tales that are in english???becouse this are the ones i could get but if there is anoter one tell me so i can tried to find it =p
and silk becouse in the games the way they kept the same summon spirits are similar doesnt mean that their are in te same historyline |

there is Tales of Legendia in english for PS2....
and I thought ToP in english wasn't out yet...........>_>
